Shave #290 (459 Open Blade Shaves) of 2021:

Gear: Colonial “Armored” General, Feather Pro blade, Graydog Art Deco brush, Zingari Man The Soloist soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Myrsol Agua de Lemon AS, and Ralph Lauren Ralph’s Club to finish!

Pretty darn good day yesterday. Spent the day with family. Morning through lunch was spent in Santa Barbara showing off the sights and shops, getting coffee, and later a nice lunch on the wharf. Then in the late afternoon we all drove out to Ventura for a few hours at Golf N Stuff (sadly not the one featured in the OG Karate Kid, that’s another hour and a half south past that one). Then out for dinner once back in SB. Eldest had a great time! The only real damper was the youngest, having too much sugar and not enough food food, so he got his comeuppance. Lesson learned hopefully 😂

No church service this morning since family is still in town. Great shave to help me wake up this morning. Soloist is an absolute treat to bring out once in a while. The new frag sampler of the day, Ralph’s Club from RL, fits the vibe pretty darn well. Initial spray is a mellow cedar wood, then a heady, rich vetiver starts to kick in on the dry down. I’m catching little hints something lightly floral on the top but can’t put my finger on what it is, probably some lavender. Seems like a fairly straightforward profile but nicely done.

Have a blessed Sunday all!

Shave #291 (459 Open Blade Shaves) of 2021:

Gear: Parker Adjustable injector, Tactonic blade, Yaqi Moka synth brush, CBL Steel Grey Fougere soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, LNHC Barber Shoppe post shave elixir, and Prada Luna Rossa Ocean to finish!

Great day yesterday. The extended family wasn’t able to leave town till noon due to some car issues, but got safely underway thereafter. We took the oldest out and got him his bike. We decided not to put out for the electric stuff for now, but it is geared so he can do some longer distance travels if he wants. Otherwise some good family time.

The storm weather hit late last night…not nearly as bad a NorCal got it but with the recent fires just north, hoping there aren’t any mudslides. It’s supposed to be raining pretty good for a good chunk of the day.

Tonight kicks off the OT Hell Week! I’m ready to kick butt…for now. Big words before I’ve even started, I know 😂

Have a great Monday all!

Just did class two this morning.

I'm guessing the format is standard across the country (today was 'The Burpee Breach') If so, just know today was HORRIBLE. It was murder on the legs/knees. [emoji3525]

You've been warned. Lol.

Glad you missed the brunt of the storm! There are some weather models that are saying this could be a rough week for the country - storms and heavy rain on the west coast, tornados in the mid west, and possibly a Nor’Easter on the east 😮

Yea. It’s a hunker-down week for ‘Murica!

Fine line between getting psyched and psyching myself out!

I was a bit behind but all caught up now. Sounds like some stellar shaves there Chris! Happy belated to the kiddo!
Thanks Steve!

How far does your son ride? Maybe no need for electric unless he takes on steep hills. I keep waiting for the prices to drop, but they don't seem to be doing that yet. Need more choices, I guess.

To date? He doesn’t 😂 he’s never had more than a scooter and wasn’t even very adventurous with that. Trying to get him out of the house and off electronics more. Thankfully for the neighborhood and main parts of town, there aren’t many big inclines so this bike should do him good enough. You know how it is though…you see half the other folks with fun toys and you get the itch!
Great shaves Chris. Sounds like you had a great weekend with the family. Good luck this week.
Thanks Clint!

Gear: Parker Adjustable injector, Tactonic blade, Yaqi Rainbow w/ pony synth brush, Proraso Red soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Proraso Red AS, and Paco Rabanne Phantom to finish!

Well…yesterday did indeed end up being the Burpee Breach work out. Hooooooooo! That was intense! I was able to set a pretty good pace fortunately and made it through the majority of the hour, with minor pauses here n there. Headed back for more pain later today!

Good shave this morning. Pretty nice load off the Proraso Red tub. Left the brush a little more wet than normal and it whipped up light and airy, but I worked it down into a nice and creamy consistency. The Parker did it’s thing and I’m feeling good!

Have a great Tuesday all!
