Shave #182 (459 Open Blade Shaves) of 2021:

Gear: Colonial Armored General, Feather Pro blade, Yaqi Sagrada Familia synth brush, Proraso Red soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Proraso Red AS, and Paco Rabanne Invictus to finish!

Nice sleep in morning!

Great night with friends last night.

Missus’ b-day this morning, so we took everyone out to a great breakfast this morning and pickup up some cake and pie for later.

Good shave just before noon. First time using PR Invictus. It’s kind of like a mix between PR 1 Million and ADG Absolu Instinct, with a deep sweet vanilla note. It’s not bad!

Most of the house is now packed. What’s left is some day-to-day use items, some of those random hard to categorize for packing stuffs, and lamps. It’s been nice to to have to rush and stuff things into boxes like previous moves.

Final meeting with one of my mentorees (last week was the final one with my other mentoree as well) later this afternoon, over some froyo.

Have a great Thursday all!

Shave #183 (459 Open Blade Shaves) of 2021:

Gear: Colonial Armored General, Feather Pro blade, Yaqi Rainbow w/ pony synth brush, CBL Green Links (?) soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Myrsol Agua de Limon AS, and Royall Lime to finish!

Darn dogs keep waking me up early to go out! They’re still on the old work schedule mode 😂

Middle son is in his way back today with the Junior High group from camp. Will probably get in later this afternoon or early evening.

Just over a week left till move day!

Have a great Friday all! Ya made it!

Shave #184 (459 Open Blade Shaves) of 2021:

Gear: Colonial Armored General, Feather Pro blade, Graydog Art Deco brush, CBL Balsamic Oud soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, WSP Mahogany AS, and TF Oud Wood to finish!

Off on a small trip today to see family. Once we move it’ll be a 5 hour trip instead of a 1.5 hour trip to “visit”. Also to celebrate some birthdays!

Have a great Saturday all!

Enjoy your time with your family my friend

Shave #185 (459 Open Blade Shaves) of 2021:

Gear: Colonial Armored General, Feather Pro blade, Yaqi Sagrada Familia synth brush, CBL Sir Fougere soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Pitralon Classic AS, and Guerlain Vetiver to finish!

Good day with family yesterday and got home at a reasonable hour even.

Good cleanup n shave this morning. Haven’t pulled out the Pitralon in a while but I used to pair it quite often with Sir Fougere, imagining it wasn’t too far off from Irisch Moos. Well that guess was mostly wrong 😂. Both pair quite well with Sir Fougere, Irisch Moos being a bit more powdery, slightly darker fougere and Pitralon being a slightly lighter fougere with some cedar in the background.

Last day attending church services up here at the place we’ve called our “home church” for the last 8 years. Weird!

Have a blessed Sunday all!

Is today the last holiday at your old house?

Shave #186 (459 Open Blade Shaves) of 2021:

Gear: Colonial Armored General, Feather Pro blade, Yaqi Sagrada Familia synth brush, Proraso Red soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Proraso Red AS, and Ferragamo Uomo to finish!

Had my shave early this morning. Dog who hates fireworks has recouperated enough to want to go out and run around a bit.

Have otherwise spent the day leisurely packing up some stuff.

I’m peopled out at this point, with goodbyes, visits, and explaining the situation with every individual person. Don’t get me wrong, I want to leave well…but it’s tiring!

Hope you’re all off to a good start to the week!

Back before our wedding in 2016, my wife and I walked over to Merz Apothecary in Chicago (we used to live less than a mile away) and she helped me pick out a wedding aftershave. After smelling probably 50+, she landed on Pitralon Classic. Such a great fougere scent. I don't see it get much attention these days but it's a winner in my book!
