If you have to do something...

Move in day!

We’ve got some shave den casualties. Can’t have full access yet until the movers are done…but I smell a cacophony of normally nice smelling things all blending together for an obnoxious smell… 😕

That was the initial feeling!
I was wondering if you had internet in your van down by the river. But this news is much worse. Who packed that stuff?
We shouldn’t focus on such tribal things as “who packed that stuff”. 🤫

Initial assessment - seem to have leaked a bit of CBL Barba AST (still plenty left thankfully) and lost a whole bottle of Proraso Green ASB. It just got everywhere, lol. Wiping stuff down and letting it sit out for a bit. Thankfully my razors were all separate. Their box seems as of yet, unfazed. 😮‍💨 Phew!

Shave #192 (459 Open Blade Shaves) of 2021:

Gear: Colonial Armored General, Feather Pro blade, Yaqi Rainbow w/ pony synth brush, CBL Balsamic Oud soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Skin Bracer AS, and ADG Absolu Instinct to finish!

Finally…got a shave in! ☺️

Haven’t gotten a lot of sleep, going to bed late and unfortunately naturally waking up quite early. At least the sleep I have been getting has been fairly restful.

Unpacking is going well. We’ve got most of the arranging done and now are figuring out the putting away part.

Shave felt great! The Feather Pro, even though relatively new, struggled a bit on the WTG. Once all 3 passes were finished though and I finished up, I felt fantastic! Sadly whatever the water conditions we have here are, my post shave slickness was moderately reduced. Thankfully in shave slickness was mostly unaffected.

Santa Barbara is great so far and the weather has been superb. A handful of days more and I’ll be starting work (Monday). Lots to still do between now and then and a routine to try and figure out and settle into.

Have a great Wednesday all!

Man, I hate moving... When I was in the Navy (right after C school for advanced electronics training) I was going to my first duty station and had the option of getting stationed on a brand new destroyer out of Hawaii.. I turned it down. I had moved twice by that time and could only imagine what a pain in the a** packing up and moving from Norfolk Va. to Hawaii would have been... The USS Eisenhower was there in Norfolk so that's where I went.
