Shave #178 (459 Open Blade Shaves) of 2021:

Gear: Colonial Armored General, Feather Pro blade, Yaqi Rainbow w/ pony brush, CBL Grassroots Lavender soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Fine AB AS, and YSL Rive Gauche to finish!

Head in to late services this morning.

Had a puppy magically appear in our front gated area overnight! Someone must have dropped it off figuring we could do something about it or simply to save it from wandering and getting hit by a car? IDK. Cute pup…super fluffy and playful…but sadly we did the 3 dog thing and it was great while it lasted but we are not anxious to do it again. Hopefully it’s owner comes to claim it.

Gear: Colonial Armored General, Feather Pro blade, Yaqi Sagrada Familia synth brush, Proraso Red soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Proraso Red AS, and CK Eternity to finish!

Up super early to take the middle child to his youth group trip…week long youth camp down in SoCal. This is a pretty big deal…besides it being his last hurrah with his buddies here, it’ll be the biggest, longest trip away from home that he’s been on without us. Crossing our fingers he enjoys the week, otherwise it’ll be like pulling teeth to get him to ever do it again, he’s that kind of person 😂

Doing some packing today after a nice coffee date with the missus. Less than 2 weeks till we bid farewell to Sacramento and NorCal.

Nice afternoon shave to clean up a bit.

Curious, Chris, if you have a favorite AC type blade? What seems to work for me best is Schick Proline and Kai mild. Only used the Feather Pro for a few shaves with a sample pack from TryABlade. I see you use Feather Pro regularly. Any strong bias?

I started out on Feather Pros with my Feather SS because they were cheap and did a pretty good job…so I just used em for my AC razors too when I made that jump. After finding Prolines though, I’m just trying to whittle down my Feather Pro stock and likely won’t buy any more, sticking with just Prolines for my AC razors. Prolines are excellent!

Ahhh! Got it! Kinda the way I feel about Kai pink mild. Trying to use them up and stay w/ Prolines. Thanks, brother!
BTW, these next 2 weeks will fly for you guys!! ;)

Cannot get enough of this razor! It would definitely be my desert island razor of choice! And yes, I voluntarily used Proraso Red again 😂

Middle son made it safely with the youth group through their 8 hour drive and to their youth camp destination yesterday. 👍

Another day of light packing ahead, mixed in with some Days Gone for gaming.

They went down to Biola’s campus in SoCal. Just past Los Angeles.

It’s been nice not having to wake up to an alarm much 🤙

Nice shave today. Fresh Feather Pro was tamed rather nicely in the General. Decided to use…you looking Bruce? 😂….Moon Soaps Amaretto for that almondy, marzipany goodness! Mmmmm MMMMMMM!

My mom is coming up today to help do some packing. I think the kitchen is the focus today.

Later this evening we’re going to a friends’ for a “goodbye” dinner.
