Shave #127 (459 Open Blade Shaves) of 2021:

Gear: Gillette Prewar Tech, Bic Chrome Platinum blade, Stirling 2-band synth brush, Proraso Red soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Proraso Red AS, and ADG Absolut Instinct to finish!

Decent nights rest.

Shave yesterday ended up with a little visible irritation even though I didn’t really feel much, in reflection, the last Parker shave was the same...so both razors got the blades swapped. Brought out the Tech with a fresh Bic for this morning’s shave though! Not much to complain about there!

Bible study to facilitate mid work shift today. After that I’m pretty much home free for the rest of the weekend. Should be a nice 3-day chill.

Setting up the missus a “paint party” with a local artist (leads them in painting their own piece of art), for a Mother’s Day gift. Getting my Dad, FIL, and brothers in law to get their wives in on it too so the ladies can all do it together. The last time they did it they had a blast.

Have a great Thursday all!

That sounds like a fantastic gift.

Shave #128 (459 Open Blade Shaves) of 2021:

Gear: Blackland Vector, Schick Proline blade, Graydog Art Deco brush, CBL Green Links soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Myrsol Agua de Limon AS, and Penhaligon’s Sartorial clone oil to finish!

Friday dad duties! Actually woke up just before my alarm but felt refreshed anyway. Got the kids going, then took some time for myself.

Great cleanup and shave! Went for a clean, fresh, greenish theme. Vector skated along, doing its thing over a first rate lather. Green Links (I think that’s what it was called?) has a great, fresh, light grassy vibe. Like a cool spring morning walking a long, lush lawn, the light scent of a sweet grass-like scent wafting gently to your nose.

First use of Agua de Limon, thanks to Bruce, was a stellar followup. Off the bottle it smells almost like Lemon Head candies taste, but once applied is much less candy-like and much more a fresh squeezed lemon in your face...with a nice pump of menthol to kick it up a notch. Having used K and C previously, I can say for certain that Myrsol knows how to make a great splash for sure.

The Brass General gets set off soon to BRG for its spa treatment and nickel plating. I’m already missing it!

Have a great Friday all! You’ve made it! 🤙

Shave #129 (459 Open Blade Shaves) of 2021:

Gear: Blackland Vector, Schick Proline blade, SV/TSC Il Re Tasso d’Oro brush, SV 70th soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, SV 70th AS, and Guerlain Vetiver to finish!

Great sleep in this morning and a nice lazy late morning. Went out for the usual coffee and walk with the missus.

Great post-noon shave with a proven, high quality setup. Basking and marinating in the SV 70th/Guerlain Vetiver scent combo right now. So good!

Some lawn watering and laundry to accomplish today. Starting work on my next teaching for Thursday Bible study.

Have a great Saturday all!

Shave #130 (459 Open Blade Shaves) of 2021:

Gear: Blackland Vector, Schick Proline blade, Graydog Art Deco brush, Zingari The Soloist soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, CF Sherlock AS, and Tom Ford Oud Wood to finish!

Not the best nights sleep...but it was sufficient I guess.

Pretty good shave today. Caught a couple little follicle heads but nothing some witch hazel blend couldn’t salve up. First use of CF products this morning. Sherlock goes amazingly well with The Soloist. It’s a very nice scent profile that verges on deep/dark but manages to keep from going overboard. The leather and pepper are apparent, and the tobacco rounds it out nicely. There’s something almost minty green in there too, along with a nice touch of menthol. Good stuff!

Hope all the motherly women folk in your lives have a blessed Mother’s Day...and for all who have lost such a woman, may you dwell upon the treasure of good memories that remain!

Have a blessed Sunday all!

Have a great Monday all!
