I’m awake! Mostly...

Repeat shave again...just different scents (again) 😂. This Aquatic Oud is officially toasted. The small dreg bits will be relegated to the Clown Puke tub this afternoon when I get home. I may unofficially go for the Money tonsorial next...at least until the official faux 3017 starts up with the new year.

I being glad tidings with news most glorious...it appears I get my Friday back. The crew mate who’s housemate was awaiting test results came back negative, so he returns to work today. So, if that holds, I’ll be off until Monday! Woohoo! Christmas Eve is shaping up to be a bear though. A few hour “walk through Bethlehem” event on campus in the afternoon and 3 evening services up to 10 PM are scheduled, health orders permitting. I get one of the later shifts unfortunately.

My new church has a 3pm only service Christmas Eve.... glad I took the day off! Good luck staying up for the late service.... since I’ve hit my 30’s (35 now) I’m slowly turning into an old man (up at 02:30-03:00, falling asleep at 21:00) 😥

I’m finding the same since hitting my later 30s. It’s harder and harder to reach that 11:00/midnight mark I used to love so much 😂

Corona Virus Official Day 276:

A little bit of a sleep in but up in time for dad duties...kids up n readied n fed n logged in for school.

Spent a couple hours outside raking and sweeping up leaves. Most of what’s going to fall has fallen now, thankfully. The next few green waste pickup days (ie - over the next month or so) will now be spent catching up with the mondo-pile of greenery that hasn’t been able to fit in the bin. I think this is the first winter that I’ve been pretty good about staying on top of that and the gutters.

Great noonish shower n shave. Bruce @Graybeard57 kindly sent along some Schick Prolines to try in the Vector. This seems to be the blade of choice for most folks but I’ve just got a couple of dispensers of Feather Pros to get through and haven’t got around to trying these before. Can’t say that anymore! First shave was very favorable. They don’t feel as hyper-sharp as Pros but clearly still are, evidenced by a couple nicks received (all my fault I’m pretty certain). They are more comfortable though than fresh Pros. We’ll see how this shakes out over the next handful of shaves! Thanks Bruce! Encre Noire (which has made the Christmas wish list) to top things off...mmmmmmm.

Not sure what else is on the docket today? We’ll see!

Corona Virus Official Day 277:

Finally got the last two loose pucks smashed away in some freed up containers! CBL’s Green Valley Links MB and Hombres MB now have homes.

Was anxious to try Hombres after hearing so many good things about it. Was not let down! The lather was nice, slick n snotty...I think this is the MB line? Either way, that was a given. The scent? I simply don’t have anything like it in my den...so to me it’s very enjoyable and unique! It was hard for me to pick out any specific notes but to my nose, purely guesses, it smells like some fresh, green, vegetal, cactusy kind of scent with a hint of leather lurking in the back. I am not Chosen but this was a very mild, actually pleasant kind of vegetal smell. The scent lingers on my hands after shaving and I can’t stop bringing them up to smell it!

Proline was even more comfortable today...and no nicks! Now the question will be how long that specific feeling edge can last!

Not a whole lot happening today, which I’m OK with! Just school for the kids and some Zoom meetings.

Feeling nice and rested today. 👍

The great shaves continue with the Vector/Proline combo (thats 3 in a row!). If there’s any trouble now, it’s because of my proclivity for chasing the baby and insisting on my ATG hybrid passes. Today was all good though! This RR 400 is probably the closest thing I have to a soap killer (in my mind that’s a boar-like brush). It’s about as scritchy as I’d want in a brush but still comfortable enough to use. The RR Big Bruce is like a softer, floppier boar but doesn’t quite pick up as much soap in the same amount of time. I don’t think I’ll finish the Money tonsorial before the new year but I feel like I’m making progress!

Last day of school for the kids before their 2 week break. I’ll be continuing reduced schedule. The missus will likely either reduce her work too or just take a break. Should provide ample family time the next two weeks.

Last episode of the Mandalorian for this season tonight! Boooo and yay at the same time!

Fourth day of nice shaves from the Proline. Use one of my favorite scent profiles today - Rive Gauche a la Fine American Blend. That soft but masculine lavender...so nice.

Today is the big Zoom call with my mom’s side of the family. Normally we’d have a get together at a Chinese restaurant in the Bay Area but given health conditions, we opted not to do that this year. Bummer for me...it probably one of the few times a year I get to have top tier Chinese out. Oh well.

Yea...school days it whatever, I’d rather them be up and on time...but they have the hardest time getting up. Then the weekend hits or some holiday and it’s like their internal alarm clock was delayed enough to go off finally 😂

My boys used to bust into our room like a DEA drug raid at 07:00-07:15 on the weekends ... my wife recently laid down the law and it’s gotten better 👍

Nice to have a Sunday off!

Not much to say on the shave...5 in the books on this Proline and it still feels like it’s doing it’s job smoothly. Any day I get to use Skin Bracer is a good day!

Zoom call last night with my mom’s side of the family was good. Most of it was the older relatives talking over everyone else, trying to say hi to everyone, trying to figure out how Zoom works, and why they couldn’t see certainly people...hilarity!

This week is another short work week. I’m on tomorrow and then a later shift to cover Christmas Eve happenings.

Got major video game work to do today. Fortnite and CoD Warzone pew pews await! 😎
