If you have to do something...

Shave #228 (425 Open Blade Shaves) of 2020:

Gear: Feather AC SS folding, Feather Pro blade, Schick M Adjustable injector, Schick Twin blade, Yaqi Rainbow w/ brown synth brush, CBL Barbershop soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Skin Bracer AS, and EstƩe Lauder Pleasures for Men to finish!

Corona Virus Official Day 153:

Finally got a normal sleep in...a shame I have to wake up at 5:30 am tomorrow šŸ˜µ

Day is mostly full of some indoor chores. Did escape for an hour this morning, while it was low 90s, to get to the store and grab some coffee with the missus sans kids.

Finally got in a shave early afternoon, between lawn section waterings. Had a chance to pull out the Feather in which the Pro blade which is still going strong. 3rd pass and cleanup with the Schick M for a nice, comfortable, smooth finish. Topped off with the modern Skin Bracer goodness and some dabs of Pleasures for Men.

I donā€™t think Iā€™ve used this sample yet. When one thinks EstĆ©e Lauder, one most likely imagines feminine skin care products and perfumes. I donā€™t think items for men were/are ever a main focus. The cologne is very reminiscent of that fact I think. It feels very 1990s era to me, slightly perfumey, unisex, or maybe only just slightly masculine. Itā€™s at least a fairly unremarkable, cleanish scent. Non offensive in any way. At least itā€™s not bad!

Laundry and more lawn watering to finish up (the bane of not having a sprinkler system...zone watering by hose). Probably an early night so I can have some stamina for tomorrow.

Have a great Saturday all!

Shave #229 (425 Open Blade Shaves) of 2020:

Gear: Schick M Adjustable injector, Schick Twin blade, Yaqi Rainbow w/ brown synth brush, CBL Grassroots Lavender soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Myrsol K AS, and Atelier Vanille Insensee to finish!

Corona Virus Official Day 154:

Up at the buttcrack of dawn!

Got jumpstarted with a shower n shave. Went for nice and easy. Opted just to use the M injector to reduce chances of doing damage in my bleary eyed state. 3 simple, smooth, effective passes and BBS was easily achieved. Topped off with the pepperminty goodness of Myrsol K and the rich vanilla of Atelier. Much better!

A quick cup of iced coffee before heading out. Itā€™s a weird morning. I donā€™t think it ever got back below 80 overnight. Currently quite overcast though, even there wasnā€™t a single heavy cloud in the sky yesterday. Itā€™ll burn off though.

Letā€™s see what happens at church!

Have a blessed Sunday all!

Yup...we have been dry here at my house also. Areas around us are getting rain...but for some reason...the skies tend to stay blue right over my neighborhood. It's weird. I have had to pull out the sprinklers and actually water grass and plants.

CBL Grassroots Lavender is one of my favorite soaps and scents! It's good stuff for sure. Have a good service at church!

The rain is coming!
Yea we had a couple minor but intense showers. Last night the high winds did a bunch of mischief. The worst was the high heat and high humidity this morning though from all the moisture.

Thanks Don! The soap is a favorite for sure!
ā€œUp at the buttcrack of dawn!ā€ ... ew!
Well, when I got up it wasnā€™t yet dawn but by the time I got out of the house, the sun was just coming up over the horizon...what do you call it? šŸ˜œ

Shave #230 (425 Open Blade Shaves) of 2020:

Gear: Blackland Vector, Feather Pro blade, RR Big Bruce synth brush, Proraso Green soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Proraso Green balm, and Intoxicated Killian clone oil to finish!

Corona Virus Official Day 155:

Ugh, so sore.

Decided a mentholated shave was in order. I did forget to bring in the Osage though sadly. The rest of the shave was great though and went off without a hitch. Intoxicated Killian helped transform the sweet medicated scent of Green into something a bit more refined.

Today may be the only day I work till next Sunday. Most of our must-do projects are finished and besides that, the weather this week is all forecasted to be 100-110 range.

Super crazy rain/thunderstorm last night around 12:00-1:00ish. Sounded like the world broke for an hour. Then it was just over. Weird!

Have a great Monday all!

Shave #231 (426 Open Blade Shaves) of 2020:

Gear: Feather AC SS folding, Feather Pro blade, Schick M Adjustable injector, Schick Twin blade, Sorrentino TSC 1st Anniversary badger brush, DG After the Rain soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Skin Bracer, and Mr Burberry to finish!

Corona Virus Official Day 156:

Bit the bullet and did it. Woke up early and got my butt out the door to take advantage of the ā€œcoolerā€ morning temps to bang out the yard work for the week. This morning was actually tolerable and a bit less humid than the last few days. Set a decent pace and in two hours time I had mown, edged, did some trimming, and blown. Even got up on the roof briefly to trim some tree bits that were encroaching on the AC unit. Came back in, glass of water and a glass of iced coffee later, it was time to clean up and shave!

Pulled out the DG After the Rain which I like but in the mess of good soaps I have doesnā€™t get reached for a whole lot. The scent matches the brainā€™s memory of the smell in the air after a cool, cleansing rain. It manages to capture it cleanly though I feel, devoid of any particular setting - urban, suburban, rural, or otherwise...just the lingering dampness of rain. 3 uneventful and fairly smooth passes. Skin Bracer was an excellent followup scent! Topped off with Mr Burberry, a nice modern masculine scent thatā€™s not quite fresh but escapes being too dark as well.

Surviving the heat is the plan for the rest of the day...crossing our fingers and saying a quick prayer that our area avoids the rolling blackouts going on. The AC is cranked for now but we try as much as is feasible to otherwise keep the majority of power-drawing items off until the evening. Like the fossil fuel market, the energy market is just another big money-making scam. My wallet is hurting already just thinking about what the bill is going to be this month...

Still, we are very fortunate - our house is in decent shape and we have working AC. Some folks in our very neighborhood occasionally resort to hanging out in their cars during the hottest parts of the day, just for a reprieve.

Have a great Tuesday all!
