If you have to do something...

Nice read and review. You should post the review portion in the DE section. Lots of good info on a new razor! Although now I want one.

So I was trying to play catch up, and realized I was over 200 posts behind! So did a little skimming through. The thing subject that caught my attention the most was "screamo and razor blades". I literally laughed out loud, then grinned at the fact that I'm not the only metal lover here. Then I though to myself "why am I not listening to music when I shave?" I'll be starting, thanks for the idea!.

Also, congrats on the Game Changer. Looks awesome, and sounds like it's definitely a keeper!

Thanks Steve! Good to hear from you.

Credit for music during shaves goes to a couple other fellows here, like Craig. I don’t do it all the time, but it adds another dimension.

I can see it definitely adding to the overall experience. I might not jump right into a metal record on the first time around myself though, could be dangerous lol. Maybe I'll start with some solo David Gilmour. Nice and chill ?

Sounds like a pretty sweet razor. Some might say it's even a .....game changer...

Quick break at work, so I thought I’d give a little update to the journal:

- I haven’t gotten a solid whiff of the Fine Plat for a couple of hours now. There are a few breezy hints once in a while, but with my certain cologne on (Mary Kay: Cityscape; I believe it’s their “top” men’s cologne, it’s not a close match for Fine Plat, but it’ll do for the time being - it’s actually very nice and I only applied one spritz; for those interested the notes are: Top notes include Italian Bergamot and French Lavender. Middle notes include Whiskey Barrel Accord and Orange Flower. Bottom notes include Cedarwood and Mediterranean Rockrose.) it’s hard to differentiate. So...at least 4ish hours of solid scent (consistent whiffs of scent and decent projection), with another 4ish hours of petering out. Not bad at all. I had only applied about a penny’s worth of product to face and neck.

- My BBS is still going strong as well over 10 hours later. I’m still over 80% of shaves area where I can’t feel any stubble with the tops of my fingers and hands. I’m worried there won’t be enough to shave 3 passes in the morning! Lol! But I’ll be doing it anyway. ?

Another great mail call waiting for me for me at the house when I came back from work!

Most excellent good sir!

Random morning mini-update...

I woke up this morning, rubbed my face with my hands a bit to de-groggify, and what did I smell?

Fine Platinum of course! Almost 24 hours later, after multiple washings! Hot damn!

Shave #130:

Only a quick update today. I spent a good chunk of the morning figuring out video and YouTube stuffs. First video is uploading now. I’ll post it later.

Gear: Feather AC SS, Pro blade (5), RR Game Changer, Astra SP (1), RR Big Bruce, TOBS Sandalwood, and RR The Stallion to finish.

Most of what I was doing was focused on filming the video without killing myself. Thankfully no nicks or cuts, and not much irritation. Like some others, despite the profession I’m gunning for, I don’t speak well publicly and I’m terrible at holding conversations. At least I think it so. But that said, I think shaving set me at ease some during the filming.

Solid BBS today though. Still loving the RR GC, it’s working perfectly with the Astra.

Happy Wednesday!

Chris, thanks for the review of the Game Changer. Looks like a nice razor, and a good value for what you get.

Don't worry about speaking in front of a camera. I interview people for a living and still think I'm horrible at public speaking. I actually prefer to watch a video of honest commentary than rehearsed lines.

Nice stuff Chris! I was a little behind but caught up now. The GC looks like a great razor!

Shave #131:

Back to some semblance of normalcy today!

Gear: Feather AC SS, Pro blade (6), RR GC, Astra SP blade (2), RR Big Bruce, TOBS Sandalwood, and homemade Brut AS decant.

The video yesterday was fun to make, but I’m glad to have not felt rushed today for the shave. Yesterday was a decent mostly-BBS shave, felt good, though it didn’t last super long, a product of a non-full prep day and the camera no doubt. Today is a 99% BBS, only a couple stray stubble hairs that got away, but are bearable.

The Feather put up fantastic reduction as usual and the GC continues to impress with a smooth knockout of everything left over.

The Brut AS is really shining too. To make it all I did is cut in generic, genuine witch hazel and some extra, slightly mentholated isopropyl. For any of you that haven’t tried genuine witch hazel yet, get some, mix it up with an AS or frag you find to be too strong, and it works wonders for irritation and post shave feel!

In other things, today’s work shift will mark my mid-week. VBS is still going strong at the church, though the volunteers are feeling the “almost done” drag. Tomorrow will be the finale. After that, my crew and I get everything back in top order and ready for services! Friday and Saturday will be quite busy with the prep work!

The missus also is preparing for her annual trip to Mary Kay headquarters in TX. Usually the kids go visit the grandparents while I stay back and work, bacheloring it for the better part of a week. I know she looks forward to the festivities, but it’s a hard week for me knowing I won’t sleep well and it’ll be too quiet. She deserves it though!
