If you have to do something...

Reflecting some more on L’Homme Ideal L’Intense - still leathery, but now the powdery/floral feels more powdery/smoky/berry. I feel like at this point it’s got a lot of similarities to Scheermonnik Delfts Wit. Not getting whiffs (that I’m registering anyway) ATM like I would Vetiver, but still picking up a strong skin scent about 1” off.

Shave #65 (400 Open Blade Shaves) of 2020:

Gear: Schick M Injector, Schick Twin blade, RR Big Bruce synth brush, CBL SIR Fougere tonsorial soap, generic witch hazel, Thayer’s Medicated, Speick AS, and Guerlain Homme Eau De Parfum to finish!

Nice shower n shave this morning, though a bit groggy at a wake up...making coffee now to fix that.

Today is an “even” day for me, so that means a “brighter/fresher” scent usually for me, post shower. Decided to try the Guerlain Homme Eau De Parfum sample, because it seemed to fit the bill...and I like mojitos! SIR Fougere tonsorial did not disappoint and the shave from the Schick M with Twin blade was nice and smooth. I should be able to get back to a Vector shave tomorrow.

So, Guerlain Homme Eau De Parfum - I’ve only had it on for about 30 minutes, but upon application, the sweet mojito vibe was real, without being boozy too! Currently getting a nice sweet mint scent off the skin. It is fairly light to me at the moment, I even sprayed pretty generously. Hoping the scent ramps back up a bit. Where does it lie at the moment in the Guerlain lineup?

Guerlain Scents (roughly in order of preference):
- Vetiver
- Vetiver Intense
- Homme Eau De Parfum
- L’Homme Ideal L’Intense

Last night L’Intense surprisingly hung in there, I got random whiffs here n there and it had turned more leathery/woodsy which was nice. Hoping Homme brings the same surprises!

Shave #66 (400 Open Blade Shaves) of 2020:

Gear: Blackland Vector, Schick (?) blade, Yaqi SF synth brush, CBL Barbershop soap, generic witch hazel, Thayer’s Medicated, Lucky Tiger AS, and Boucheron Jaipur Homme to finish!

Another groggy day. Still having trouble adjusting those two hours back and now I’m going to lose another hour in a couple days...

Had brought out the A&E Shave Serum No. 2 with this morning’s kit because I thought it was a post-shave serum...it’s not I found out after looking up some info. So it’ll have to wait for another day. I did make today’s other choices based on my decision to use Boucheron Jaipur though, turned out to all jive together pretty well!

So Jaipur? Well right now, about 30 minutes after application, I’m getting a sweet/creamy powder (fairly unisex, edging feminine); off the skin though I get a vanilla creamy talc/barbershop. Overall OK, but I’ve had much better (Atelier Cologne Vanille Insensee for instance). Never know till you try though right?

Busy weekend ahead with the last official games of basketball today and tomorrow. Don’t really get a break the rest of the month either since there’s a couple big concerts, church events, and then we’re in to volleyball season.

Ahh Saturday, the day that means the next two I have off!

Showered n shaved this morning. Whatever this blade is in the Vector is going in the bin, I’m done trying to see if the next shave will be better. It has great smoothness with the WTG, decent with XTG, and none with ATG.

Paired up After the Rain with Guerlain Homme L’Eau today. There wasn’t much left, so I’m hoping what I got is a good representation. It smells better on my shirt than on my wrist right now, I’m hoping they match up later. It’s light, slight pepper, bergamot, and a heafty perfumey grapefruit up front. Not the biggest fan of grapefruit though.🤷‍♂️
