Shave #33 (400 Open Blade Shaves) of 2020:
Gear: Gillette Pre-war Tech, Feather blade, Yaqi Rainbow w/ brown synth brush, AOS Bourbon soap, generic witch hazel, Thayer’s Medicated, Lucky Tiger AS, and ADG Absolu Instinct to finish!
Just doing the late service today, so had a later wake up and a nice shower/shave. Reached for the AOS Bourbon/ADG Absolu Instinct combo. Using the Tech/Feather combo is taking some time to adjust to; getting good shaves but not as close as they could be.
Shift went really well last night. Finished with a little time to spare.
I was told we are going to my sister-in-law’s house today to visit family and watch the Super Bowl...so I guess that’s my day. I’ll probably get a jump start on my teaching for the week while everyone watches the folks, each one of whom will likely make more money than everyone in the room, combined, in their life times...who represent interests and companies that likely have budgets equal to some small countries. It’s a weird thing to think about. I’m sure there will be some fun moments.

Gear: Gillette Pre-war Tech, Feather blade, RR Big Bruce synth brush, DG After the Rain soap, generic witch hazel, Thayer’s Medicated, Barbasol Pacific Rush AS, and EOs to finish!
Yesterday finished up rough. Lots of butting heads with one of the more oppositional kids over dumb stuff. Parenting
Another day another dollar otherwise. Back to work this afternoon.
Still doing fine with the Tech/Feather combo. Shave results are great, edge on the blade still is a bit wonky though.

Never fails, but is deceptive in doing so. It’s felt like the shaves could be better in the moment, but afterward turns out to have been great. It’s been an effort not to push the shaves farther in the moment

Unavoidable sometimes, difficult always.
I'm definitely not looking forward to that experience when it comes. I can be super mean if I'm not conscious of what I'm saying, and the last thing I want to do is teach the turd that being mean is the only way to get things done. I have a lot to work on.

A Navy chief in boot camp told us lowly recruits that we were TURDs, which he informed us stood for Trainees Under Rigid Discipline.

Gear: Gillette Pre-war Tech, Feather blade, RR Big Bruce synth brush, CBL SIR Fougere tonsorial soap, generic witch hazel, Thayer’s Medicated, and Avon Clint to finish!
Early morning wake up for school short bus duties. Got back in reasonable time to clean up and shave before date morning. Feather edge still feeling harsh on the ATG, I seem to be consistently nicking myself at least once a shave on the corner of the upper lip, otherwise the results are still primo. Used Avon Clint again today since I can actually smell things (last time I used it I was clogged with sickness). Today I’m getting Pinaud SR/Pitralon Classic mix vibe out of it. It’s not bad!
Hong Kong style honey tea and cheese/date omelette up on the menu for date morning! Hopefully time later to finish up my teaching for tomorrow...then work!
