Hello friends, it' been a while! Easter Weekend was wonderful, our son really enjoyed the local egg hunt as well as ones at our house, my parents house AND my wife's grandparents house. 4 egg hunts in 48 hours for the little man. That's a lot of eggs!
This week has been absolutely murderous at work. I'm enjoying what we're working through, but it's been a ton of churn. Spoke with my senior director yesterday, where she shared both some good visions on where this group is envisioned to go, but didn't quite answer every question I had in the way I would have wanted. Time will tell and we'll see how the next couple months go.
Shaves have been nice and fresh, been shaving pretty much exclusively with CBL Hombres, DM Masters of the Green and B&M Sunny Lane and while it's been cooler than normal, the scents are helping it feel like spring. Also been loving my A&F First Instinct Together and Hugo Boss Reversed. I got my very first compliment from someone other than my wife on Saturday while wearing First Instinct Together from my mom "wow you smell nice!" Definitely a reason that type of frag profile is a "hype beast!"

No kidding! We ended up giving most of the candy away to other kids and cousins as he simply doesn't need that much at 2 years old and if we took it all, my wife and I would just end up eating most all of it. I'm beginning to feel like a *bit* of a frag head, although the wife will make sure I maintain the 1 in, 1 out mentality which is good both for my pocket book and our vanity storage!
Happy that today is Friday and looking forward to NOT working this weekend, at least on formal work stuff. We're getting 7 cubic yards of mulch dropped in the driveway today and I will be spending all day tomorrow mulching all the beds in the yard. It's going to be sunny thankfully, but also above 80 degrees for the warmest day of the year so far. Of course that's when I'm supposed to be mulching! Still better to have sun vs rain, though. Lots of rain in the forecast today so have the tarps ready to go to try and keep the mulch as dry as possible until tomorrow.
Nice shave this morning with Masters of the Green chased with Grey Flannel as it felt perfect for the cool grey day we're having this Friday. Thanks for reading!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend! 7 cu yards of mulch were delivered in the afternoon on Friday followed by almost an inch of rain so the tarps were put to good use. Got out there around 7 on Saturday morning and had moved & laid all of that huge pile by noon. Followed that with a mow as I knew I wasn't going out there again this weekend once I sat down inside. Couple of pre-emptive Advil and while I was a little sore yesterday, nothing too crazy.
Did figure out that on one side of our house, there evidently is a crack in the foundation that I hadn't noticed before - we got another 3/4 inch of rain yesterday and when I happened to head into the basement I found a nice line of water coming down from a hairline crack in the wall and forming a nice little puddle that was distinctly brown in color. Had a panicked moment thinking it was sewage or something, but a trip outside uncovered said crack that I had unknowingly covered in mulch. Pulled the mulch away from that crack and the water intrusion immediately stopped. Looks like we'll be having the basement guys come out to fill that crack. Sigh. When we bought the house 3 years ago, we knew we'd be fighting water in the basement for a while as it had never been properly taken care the past 30 years, but this is the first issue we've had in over a year and I was getting cautiously optimistic that all the drainage we put in and improved had fixed it 100%. Oh well, we'll get there.
In better news, took an unplanned trip to the mall yesterday with the wife and little guy which was a blast. Stopped at the frag counter in Macy's where I got a chance to smell the new Polo Blue Parfum, ADG EdP and D&G Light Blue Italian Love. Both the wife and I loved the Blue Parfum, and I really enjoyed Italian Love while my wife said it was a little too "feminine" for her liking on me. Walked around the mall for a bit, split an Auntie Ann's cinnamon sugar pretzel, and my son got to run around a bit in the kids area. Great afternoon and the Polo Blue Parfum is on the wish list now!

Hoping it's just an old crack from settling over the last 30 years that once fixed, isn't an ongoing problem as a true foundational issue is DEFINITELY going to be $$$$$$Well…glad you at least found the issue before it became more serious! Hope it’s not too much
Back in the office today, nothing too exciting on the home front except that my wife said "ooo you smell great" when I came downstairs after applying YSL L'Homme. Guess we made the right choice in identifying my "signature scent!"

Another busy day in the office yesterday, little bit quieter today which is nice. Squeezed in an early morning mow today before settling down to work - necessary to get those lawn stripes down as my son's birthday party is Saturday. Weather isn't looking good but it's a small family party indoors so no issues there.
While I enjoy my bottle of Azzaro PH, it just has ZERO longevity on my skin. Not sure if that's common or not, but it is by FAR the worst performing frag in my humble den. Compare that to Z-14 which I could still catch whiffs of 12 hours later yesterday, and it's truly a shame. Relegating the Azzaro bottle to room freshener status. At least it was a tiny 50mL one.

I'm pretty heavy handed with most of my frags, and even with 4 on all sides of my neck and 2 under the shirt, I still couldn't pick it up by lunch! I guess it's just one that my skin chemistry kills.

Happy Friday Cadre, we made it through another week. Thankfully this one was quieter at work compared to last. We have family photos scheduled for this afternoon which, despite my dislike of them, always turn out very nice and I end up thanking my wife for scheduling. Tomorrow we have my son's 2nd birthday party with the family which should be very nice. He loves the movie Cars, so we're doing a "2 Fast" theme around the Pixar movie. Hoping for a nice quiet Sunday but I have a feeling there's a honey do list lurking in my future...

Happy Monday, Cadre, back to the grind. My son's birthday party went off without a hitch so that was great! Continued to be amazed at my wife's cake decorating skills, as she made an awesome Lightening McQueen one this year. My son had a great time, all the way up until it was time to sing with his birthday cake when he just melted down and sobbed. Ah well, such is life with a 2 year old! His actual birthday is this coming Friday so will be nice to celebrate just the 3 of us.
My wife went to lunch with a couple of her girlfriends yesterday who live downstate, so they meet up every once in a while at a Panera almost directly in between all of them. But that's still almost 2 hours away so I was on full-time single dad duty yesterday. We had a great time hitting up 4 different rack stores in the area taking a quick peak at their frag offerings and I ended up with a tiny 50ml bottle of Tommy for $12. It's been YEARS since I had smelled it and when I threw it on this morning, it took me right back to middle school. Sure it's a cheap green scent that might only last 3 or 4 hours but man does it remind me of simpler times. I think Tommy, MJ, and Cool Water are probably my "trifecta" of throwback colognes, with Z-14 thrown in for my dad.
Hoping the week is a fairly quiet one, basement guys are coming out today to look at the crack in the basement, so crossing my fingers they don't give us a lot of bad news. We've used them multiple times now for various water things inside and out, so I at least trust them.
