Tonight’s shave. Two dollar Robeson and Tabac Tuesday. This qualifies as what I call a working mans shave.
Tomorrow I’ll be working. Me and Daddy’s Girl aka truck #90. First winter storm of the year.

Well after 31 hours of bouncing around. Me and Daddy's Girl burnt up about 80 gallons of diesel. Spread 20 plus tons of salt. Got to go home last night at 1900 hrs.
Took a long hot shower and shaved. Back to feeling like a civilized human being. Not saying I look like one. Or even act like one. But from about fifty feet I can pass for one.
Mother nature took the shine off our new guys at work. People getting stuck. Tearing up trucks. Causing property damage. General mayhem. It's not often we get snow before Christmas. So Mom Nature decided to mess with the east coast. She's just a nasty ho' that you gotta deal with. And when your done take long hot shower to get the funk off.
The Temperite got the call. Suds provided by B and M's Nordost. The orange smell was a nice pick me up. Went with one of my "comfort" aftershaves. Old Spice is one my fav's.
Friday has been kind of a mellow affair. Hope you guys are ready for the weekend.

Laid back day today. Had my grandson over in the middle of the day. Ran some errands after he went back home. Then got some mexican takeout for me and the wife.
Tonight's shave stuck with the Temperite. Went with my Yaqui badger brush. And WK Project Leather. Followed by Proraso Red AS.
This soap really is a nice leather forward scent. Brings back memories of the first time you go shopping for a baseball glove. Or when I first put on my custom Bates leather MC jacket and Alpinestars racing suit. Or that time in Vegas when a Pro Dominatrix mistakenly showed up at my hotel door. Leather can be made into so many useful things.6FCA0FAA-D8BA-46A6-9651-103EFDA36CCA.jpeg

Good shave tonight. Sticking with another one of my domestic razors. That being my Top Flight by Burrell. The New York made razors. This one in Ellicottville. In my experience they are all well made. With great steel. The 1508.5 of my Grecian Horse goes well. And the Proraso Red being in heavy rotation with it. Will make room for other aftershaves on the shelf.
Was planning on watching the football games today. But the greedy bastard NFL decided to not show them to you. Unless you pay for their network. Oh well capitalism.

Yesterday's shave. Didn't have a chance to post up on account of watching football.
Continuing my domestic razor extravaganza. Genco/Geneva one of the most prolific American manufacturers. Easy to find on the bay. One in good nick, will do you a treat. Good steel well made. Another "can't go wrong" kind of razor. This one is a Geneva "Pyramid" razor. Nothing fancy. But great shaver none the less. Soap is my Kell's Original Arabian Spice.
Think this is a glycerin base soap. Nice scent/strength good performance. Very hard translucent puck. Easy to lather. Whipped up with a Razorock 400 brush. A great brush for the price. Proraso red to finish

Tonight's shave features my purrty Genco Easy Aces. This one may be a slightly thinner grind than my other Geneva Pyramid example. I have about 9 more uses left of the Grecian Horse. The Omega boar brush seems a little low rent setting next to the Easy Aces but it still does a nice job.
I enjoy using modern technology as it enabled me to watch the Bengals beat up on the Steelers while it put all of this nice equipment to use. Who would have thought that we would have phones and tablets we could carry around the house and watch tv wirelessly. Remember when you had extra long cords on the phone so you could walk around and talk?

Tonight's shave brings about the end of my made in America straight razors. What country to go to next? England, Italy, Germany, Austria, Russia, Japan, Spain, China or North Korea?
Decisions... decisions. Tune in tomorrow and see what razor makes the Christmas eve shave grade.
This Clauss Royal Bengal Brand was almost like a early Christmas present. It is in NOS condition. Surprisingly it would not be my choice for a everyday/high use razor. The tang ergonomics/design are not comfortable to strop. 1508.5 charges ahead with the Grecian Horse soap and Proraso Red AS. Very early in 2021 they will be replaced. Like an old politician from Delaware.
Hope you are all ready for the holidays in whatever way you need/want to be.

Now that I think about it Chris. I have never seen any razor that has any Christmas relatable marketing/theme. In fact just the opposite. There are Red Devil, Black Devil, Red Imp, Double Duck Reaper's. Guess a jolly fat guy with a beard. Isn't the best mascot for a razor.

Christmas Eve shave. Well guys I'll end the suspense. Tonight's razor is the most modern member of my collection. The Austrian Stubble Annihilator Korrat 14 2.0
Suds provided by the excellent to my nose Soloist. Applied by my fanciest brush. The TSC SV Badger LE. Lathered as usual in my Christmas present to myself from a few years back. SWK scuttle. And finished off with my ATF AS Alt Innsbruck.
All of these items constitute a symphony of shaving greatness. I just might groundhog day the setup for tomorrow it's that damn skippy.
Merry Christmas fellers.
