Fluffy's Curmudgeon Corner

That looks like some lathery goodness with that new knot.

I need to reknot my RR400 also. I’m still debating on knot choice though. Maybe leaning towards a badger / boar mixed knot.

Nice shave with the Red Star by F.W. Engels
Only gripe is the fact that the soap. PAA Diver Down is a mentholated soap. For some reason I just don't enjoy that ingredient in soap. Aftershave's are a different story. I like it fine in them.
In other areas things are going skippy with my hand me down Stihl leaf blower. After an $8.00 carb rebuild kit was expertly installed. This thing is blowing like a Cat 5 hurricane. Winning. Tomorrow will be my trusty old Stihl FS 65 string trimmer. I bought it new in 1984. Back then I needed it because I was mowing a graveyard. Which is mucho trimming around all those headstones. It got shelved when it began to get cranky and I had a backup Mac 80A. That I salvaged out of someone's trash can. That’s been chugging along for the last 7-8 years. All it needed was a pull cord. I pif'd the old Mac to my neighbor. Now I need to get my old one going.
Hope you all had a good Tuesday.

When we bought our "forever" home here in the burbs, I picked up a straight shaft Stihl trimmer because of all the stories that with the proper maintenance it will run forever. Same with the Honda mower. And once it gets to the point of needing a bit more, all it usually takes is a muffler screen cleaning or cheap carb parts to get it right back as new. I know battery is all the rage now, and I'll be the lone guy in 30 years still plugging away with gas powered stuff, but it's just hard to argue with something so easy to fix if you do a little reading or watching on YouTube.

Looking forward to hearing you get the old 65 back to tip top shape!

Got my Honda mower by default. The neighbor got evicted. And he kept his mower in my shed. He never has come back to get it. And his number went dead. After exhausting every option of contacting him. Unfortunately I had to admit defeat. Soooo it is now on the inventory sheet of Fluffy Industries Lawncare Division.

Admittedly all my major lawn stuff is corded electric. If our lot were any bigger though I think I’d go gas powered too. Being literally tied down by a cord is annoying at times.

We have a Honda gas mower, but our trimmer/edger is corded electric, as are our hedge clippers. Battery-powered appliances and tools have always disappointed me with short battery life. They've improved, but still lack the reliability of corded electric, IME.
