Dear Diary,
So, I have not been back here lately. Was under the weather for a week or so. I may have been exposed to a certain viral disease that has gone viral since its first first appearance at a market in a foreign place.
I'm feeling good today. The lovely War Department lost her sense of smell, then a day later her sense of taste. They seem to be returning, slowly. Her sense of humour is intact, as she has the strength to kill me if she wanted to, and she mostly still just laughs at me and my Mickey Mouse ways that she don't understand.
But this thing is wicked. It has thus far stayed out of my lungs. I have been just avoiding stupid activity and washing my hands like I have since Nursing Skool.
Body aches LITERALLY ALL OVER, even my hair hurt, lol. It was like my body was one big toothache if you have ever had one.
Much better today. Will probably actually shave! You could count my shaves on both hands, using only 2 fingers on my left hand, for the last 4 weeks or so.
Winter sucks, but tomorrow looks like we will see 50°!

Waylon, Willie, Hank Sr. Lol, I was singing county music in the womb. There were SO MANY great acts back then. I'm an old fart, but this stuff on the radio, those country stations that still exist anyway, AIN'T country.
As a good friend of ours once asked..."Who's gonna fill their shoes?"
Okay, I explicitly told you to not contract that particular illness. You now need to be reprimanded!

I STILL have no REAL respiratory symptoms. Woke up a little "moister" in my head and throat. BUT! LOL- BIG but, as I was having coffee and graham crackers (the normal breakfast of retired Champions) I realized that my coffee tasted weak. I HATE weak coffee. Before that first cup was done I realized that it, and my graham cracker had NO taste.
I went and grabbed some old Old Spice. NO scent. If you've not experienced this, believe me: it's not like when you have a bad cold, and nothing tastes THE SAME! NO! This is like: it TASTES OF ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
Weird. I thank you ALL for your prayers. I feel more open to share MY beliefs on this forum than I do in another place I visit; less chance of putting someone else's under drawers in a pinch.
When I had my rib cage spread open on 06/06/06 and my Mitral Valve replaced I told folks I could FEEL the prayers going out for me. I nearly died more than once. Let's just say: BREATHING is fundamental, and I couldn't.
SO: I will GLADLY accept ALL prayers sent for healing. I figure it's GOD'S job to listen.
I am at present feeling well. I had an appointment yesterday set up with my doc and told them what is going on. It has now been changed to a video visit, LOL, the scaredy cats!
They are going to want me to go to a clinic about 30 miles away to have a swab stuck up my nose to confirm what I already know. Not the kinder, gentler nose assault that gives you rapid (and per my doctor, less accurate) results, OH NO, I'll be asked to get the one that reaches from the nose to the toes!
So wish me well, as I doubt I'll be able to talk my way out of it. Gotta get me in the official count I suppose.
Now would be the time to grab those soaps and aftershaves that you don't like their scents.....

I did just find myself in the possession of a nearly full jar of Tabac. Truly smelled like an old ladies purse that smokes "True" cigarettes. I'll go sniff it now....
