Doug's Journal of Shaving Happiness v2.0

Get what you mean when you love the look or feel of a razor the shave performance might come second. Like driving an Old vintage British sports car. Many other will outperform. But there is something that makes it. Right. Eventually you will get in a zen like state and nail it.

Nice shave Doug, but since everyone is telling you you're valued, I feel it's incumbent on me to keep you level headed and tell you, "It's NOT all about you Doug." Sorry man ?

I have a TV Special also and while it is not my favorite razor...or really anywhere near the top...I do pull it out from time to time because for me it is almost the definition of Vintage. It is indeed a good looking razor!

....My Flare Tip Super Speeds take real work and focus for me to not get a rough shave. There are many razors that I have which shave better, but I love the look and feel in my hand of these vintage beauties....
I dig the flare tips!

It is the way I feel about the classic tech razor. So simple, but always reliable and gives a consistent shave.

A couple of good shaves.

Shave Quality
The shave with the `Jectah was as expected. Smooth, nice, and without incident.

Today's shave with the TV Special SS was good. I rode the cap a bit more and got really good results.

The lather was great on both days. And both days were BBS.

Gear
The Crown SS is working very well for me. It is definitely a decent blade.

The WCS Silvertip is breaking in. It is still losing 1-2 hairs per shave, however. Hopefully that will stop soon. This would be a great face lathering brush, but I think my synthetics are better for bowl lathering.

Other Thoughts
My current employer counter offered, but I turned them down. I am really looking forward to starting my new job on the 17th.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Oh, and I forgot to mention in my journal entry...

I am down to the last little crescent of soap in the CBL tub. It will be gone in another shave or two, probably one.

It has gone fast, but it has been a fabulous performer.

I forget, did you say CSC is going to be a reorder? Or not really?
This one, I think, will not be a reorder for me. It is a great scent, but isn't really in my wheelhouse. I have enjoyed the experience, however. Chris has so many other scents to try out (and keeps bringing new ones out) that it may be a long time before I reorder any scent.

Gosh, your use of the injector just may have just inspired me to use mine tomorrow instead of what I had planned.

Shave Quality
There is still soap in the tub after today's shave, but I think only enough for one more. The lather was good but thin today. However, that didn't stop the Parker blade from giving me a superb shave. I have soft skin at BBS-. Good stuff for a Thursday.

Gear
The Parker blade is definitely worth buying in bulk. I totally agree with Chad's assessment of the blade. You should buy some.

Other Thoughts
What to do for dinner tonight? Tex-Mex? Pho? Soup and Salad at Sweet Tomatoes? Italian? Decisions, decisions...

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Oh man! I love me some Pho! We have some really good Vietnamese restaurants her in southern Louisiana if you can believe it. We have a HUGE Vietnamese population here as many decided to reside here because of the similarities to Vietnam.

Pho!

The tub is going to go on #22 hm? That hovers it around $1 per lathering, give or take, depending on how many soaps you buy at once. Interesting.
