Overview
A good shave for a lazy Sunday.

Shave Quality
It was an effortless BBS. I went chin to ear on my neck rather than ear to chin. It was a wonderful Injector day.

Gear
The I2 Hydro-Magic is one of the best Injectors ever produced. Mild and smooth.

Other Thoughts

O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!”

He chortled in his joy.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you all have a great day and stellar shaves.

Every shave should bring as much joy as this...alas that would be boring after a whole. Lol

Also, I got a Sunday afternoon Amazon mail call!

200 of the new DE blades from Parker and 6, yes 6, 3.3oz MD Barber brand alum blocks.

Why 6 alum blocks? Because I got a deal, that's why. All 6 blocks cost me $12. For some reason it seems like paying $5 or more for a block of alum is excessive. I shouldn't have to buy alum for several years after this. I will need to put them in ziplocks and in a dry place.

I think you’re set for a couple of months with those blades and alum!

Getting caught up as I was MIA mainly over the weekend. Nice shaves and mailcall of the Parker blades. Good luck at work hopefully a replacement for your co-worker happens soon.

Those 200 blades will go well with the 2200+ other blades that I have... So, yeah, a couple of months...
Funny, for a second I was going to ask why in the world you would buy even more, but then I remembered that question could be ask of almost all of us. I just don't happen to have many years worth of blades at home. At the moment.

The simple answer is that I wanted to try the Parker blades and there was a deal on them available on Amazon. The real answer is blade AD.

Overview
Mondays are always rough, but a good shave definitely makes them better.

Shave Quality
BBS- today in three passes with the tiniest bit of tenderness on my neck, one nick on my lip, and one weeper under my nose after three passes.

I called up the Proraso Red today because I wanted a quicker lather. The SOC whipped it up good and quick. Proraso creates a dense, wonderful lather every time and the sandalwood scent of the Red is top-notch. The General was in perfect form today, except for the third pass going south to north. My angle was off on the mustache area. I managed to catch my lip under the blade and it bit down. Also I managed to get a weeper higher up under my nose. It was a slightly down ending to a really good shave. I probably should have stopped at two passes like normal, but I am testing the limits of my new neck technique (starting at the mid-line of the chin and working out to the ears) on the second pass.

While I have a bit of tenderness on my neck after three passes, it is much less than I would normally have after three. I am definitely improving.

Gear
Still in love with The General and the SOC.

The RazoRock Santal Royale is killer juice. I have the soap, but haven't tried it yet. I highly recommend the AS splash.

Other Thoughts

I should not have stayed up so late last night, but the new video game I am
playing, Offworld Trading Company, (https://www.offworldgame.com/) is really addictive.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you all have a great day and stellar shaves.

All caught up, Doug. You racked up some nice results! Nice mail call as well. BTW, how many boar brushes do you have/had?

My first brush was a VDH boar. I have an Omega 10777, a couple of vintage Ever-Ready boars, and one other no-name boar. I also have the synthetic version of the Omega Pro, but that probably doesn't count.

Is there a boar that I should try?

Great Shave Doug! Thanks for the recommendation on the RR Santal Royale. I'm a sucker for a good sandalwood scent! I have the Omega Pro 49 myself and honestly it's the only boar brush I keep using. It's big but there is something about that brush that I like as well as others. Plus you don't break the bank on it.
