Doug's Journal of Shaving Happiness v2.0

Just thought I’d point out the fact that James Bond would use GTB if it were around then.

Good stuff Doug! And I would like to mention that Bond in at least three books or movies uses Geo F. Trumper's Eucris products.

So you guys get it out of your head that THE MAN of all men wore that stinky stuff called Tabac...and he most certainly would not even consider your even more stinky stuff called Ghost Town Barber!

Two passes with The General for almost BBS. I am going to run out of adjectives before the end of this 3017 if the shaves are all going to be as good as the last three have been. The Tabac lather is just out of this world good. The General with a Feather Pro blade is mild but extremely efficient. The brush Eric made for me is a great performer. A couple of glugs of the AS really put a cherry on top of the shave. Today's lineup of shave gear checked all of the boxes for me.

Tabac is tallow-y goodness at its best. I do think that tallow soaps do have better skin conditioning properties than many/most vegan soaps. I love the way my skin feels after using Tabac. If the Fine Accoutrements soaps work as well (they supposedly use the same soap formula) I am really going to like those also. I have several of them in my soap drawer, but haven't cracked them open yet. Tabac is just amazingly good. I love the AS splash too.

Other Thoughts
I hope my order of the 300ml AS bottle and the 300ml EdC bottle of Tabac get here soon. The 100ml bottle
of AS that I have is getting really low.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

I should also mention that this brings SEptember to a close. I didn't make 30 SE shaves, but I did get in quite a few.

Tomorrow starts OCtober.

Nice shave Doug! I like Tabac a lot and I’m gonna be using a bunch of Tabac, Razorock, and my one Open Comb in October.

The RR OLD Type clone is a great shaving razor. It is quite mild in comparison to a Gillette OLD Type which is strange given it is meant to be a clone. The geometry must be slightly different or something. Not that I am complaining. It gave me a great two pass BBS- today. The lather was spectacular and the splashes afterward left me in a cloud of Tabac-y wonderfulness.

Gear
The RR OLD Type clone is a low cost razor that really performs. The only drawback is that the head (I believe) is pot metal.

Tabac EdC is great stuff. It is more citrus and spice forward than the soap is. I now get why some of you don't see Tabac as being floral. It is spicy and ctrus-y upon application. It i
s floral with powder after the dry down.

Other Thoughts
It was a good weekend and Monday is off to a good start. (How could it not be with all the Tabac this morning!) I hope it will be a good week.

I really enjoyed my afternoon at the cigar shop on Saturday. I renewed my locker membership for another year. I don't spend enough time there. I am going to try to get there more often.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

The Tabac EdC is most excellent! There's also a Tabac EdT, but under no circumstances should anyone ever try it. Trust me on this one - it's wretched.
