The Single Ring got me about as close to completely BBS as I ever get. But, it is another one of those razors where you really have to pay attention to the angle and ride the cap. If you don't the shave gets real rough real fast. I did okay today keeping it in line, but I could have done better.

Gear
The Single Ring is a very light weight and efficient shaver. It will get really rough with you if you let it, however. Give it extra TLC and you will get great results.
The GSB is a fantastic blade. Not the best Gillette blade currently made (that would be the Gillette Platinum), but it is a really close second. I always get good blade feels with these.
Soap and AS are still good.
Today's fragrance overpowers the cologne scent of the soap and AS, but that is okay. I just felt like wearing a dark and leathery fragrance.

Other Thoughts
I see that Italian Barber is offering the 1 kilo blocks of Cella for $35 USD right now. I have always wanted to buy one, but never have. I don't need that much soap. I already have more than enough to last me until 2034 or so. But, it is tempting to get a big block of that wonderful tallow goodness. And I do have enough empty soap tubs to store the entire block in sealed containers. With Tabac having traded the tallow for laurel sulfates I am feeling like I should stock up on the really old-school stuff while I can the original formulas. Are there still tallow refill pucks of Tabac floating around???

Happy hump day. I will be staying home tonight instead of going to my usual gaming night just to be safe. Next week everything should be back to normal, I hope.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

I remember buying a brick of P.160 for that price. I eventually got tired of having it around, even though it was unobtanium. I PIF'd most of it away.

Oh man…I did love Cella when I had it…tempting. I don’t think I’d ever come even close to using that much though lol.

I can see how that could happen to me also.

Yeah. If I buy one it will (probably?) last me for well over a decade since I won't be using it every day. It would definitely be a "shavepocalypse" sort of purchase. That doesn't make it any less tempting, however.

2022 Shaves (DE: 13, SE: 1, Straight: 0, Cart: 0, Skipped: 7)

Fragrance: Azzaro Pour Homme

Overview
Having a "I'm negative" kind of day.

Ouch, ouch, ouch. The Parker TTO punched me in the face a few times today. The shave is very close, but the irritation is real. Hopefully the burn will fade before too long into the afternoon.

Gear
I haven't used my 99R in a while and had forgotten that it is heavy and aggressive. It gives good results, but man do you have to use a light touch. Some Parker DEs are milder than others. This is not one of them.
GSB is good great, but better in a different razor.
The soap is going fast. The bottom of the tub is not showing in the middle of the soap. We shall see how much longer this one will last. Getting the final bits of soap (i.e. the "ring of death") out of the corners of a tub can take a bit of time.
The AS is still good, but is possibly going to outlast the soap at this rate, even splashing heavily.
Azzaro Pour Homme is in my top 5 fragrances, I would say. Mossy, lavender-y, and spicy. Amongst the old-school, gentlemanly fragrances it doesn't get much better. This one has been around since 1978 and it is not going anywhere.

Other Thoughts
The PCR test was negative. So, either I never had it last week when I was feeling under the weather or it was a mild Omicron infection. Either way I am good to go.

I am really enjoying my watch collection. The Chinese made pieces that I have so far seem to be of excellent quality. I will probably get a few more, but I am starting to look in the direction of Switzerland now. It is going to take me a while to save my pennies for some of them, but it should be fun to acquire a couple higher end pieces.

Glad your test came back clear. Went through a bit of the same myself this last weekend and getting that negative result was a bit of relief!

Way to inject some cool into your day with Azzaro PH! 😍

The email saying negative was a nice way to start the day. Glad yours was negative also.

APH is amazingly good. I find that I have to be careful with it or I will seriously overspray.

Good news on the test.

I like the Russian watches that you displayed earlier this week - did you go through a reseller in Russia - or did you get them through eBay?

Guerlain makes fabulous fragrances. L'Homme Ideal EdP is one of them. Love it.

Other Thoughts
You know the day is going to be off when you wake up still having the anxiety attack that started the night before. It was hard to get to sleep, but it wasn't hard to wake up. The attack is over, but my day has not improved.

The Parker Variant gave me good results today. It was a no irritation shave, BBS on my cheeks but a little rough on my neck.

Gear
The Variant is a good razor. It has a nice weight and gives great results.
The GSB is a good blade for the razor.
The soap is almost gone and giving great results.
Aramis Havana is something I should have picked up sooner. Fabulous fragrance.

Other Thoughts
Had a quick meetup with some of the people from my cigar shop which burnt down. I was able to get my locker contents back, but I am fairly certain that they aren't safe to smoke. It was still good to see everyone.

A reasonably good Sunday

A similar shave to yesterday. I have always struggled to get my neck completely smooth. It was a really good shave, however.

Gear
'Jectah! Am I right? A good razor with a good blade.
All happy with the shave software.
Today's fragrance is a bit on the light side, but it is very nice. I love the note of violet leaf.

Other Thoughts
It has been an average Sunday. Not bad at all.
