Overview
The lather came out a straight shave consistency, so I had a straight shave.

Shave Quality
Holy DSBBS, Batman! My face is smooth as glass today. The razor had 30 cotton laps then 30 leather laps before the shave and 25 of each after. I did two passes with the ShurEdge and one with the Star DE. The only nick that I suffered was from the DE going ATG under my nose, and that was but a mere pinprick.
Gear
Straight razors are fun. This one has a really good edge. IIRC, this edge is the one that came from Whipped Dog, but it may be a
@BarberDave edge. Either way, it is a whisker whacking machine. I need to get more modern straights. Most of mine are vintage steel. I think vintage steel is amazing, but I don't have much to compare it to yet, at least until I get my ZYs and Gold Dollars in fighting shape. I will need to pull out my Ralf Aust soon.
The Star 100 is also a fun razor. It is a vintage clone of the Gillette Tech, with enough changes to keep it from infringing any patents or other IP. The only real drawback is the pot metal head. The handle, I believe, is brass. So, while I got this DE NOS, it may not last forever.
Other Thoughts
The office is dead today. Some people are at a training session. Some people got an early start on the two weeks of mandatory vacation.
Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.
