Doug's Journal of Shaving Happiness v2.0

Doug...bossin' people around today. Get this, get that. ;) Looks like you're going to be enjoying this 3017 even if I still can't endorse the practice.
Sometimes 3017ing is boring and tedious. This one is going to be really enjoyable.

hmmm. hit play on the video and then read the entry. I might have to steal that once in a while as it was kinda cool to have a soundtrack. @bentheduck should do that too since his entries include what he listened to as well.

Weekend recap

Shave Quality
The shaves this weekend were decent. Saturday was a repeat of Friday. Sunday was a 'JECTAH sort of day. My G4 with the blue handle was still sitting out and it had a new blade, so it was off to the races with it. The shave was a bit rough again. I am wondering if the there is something misaligned in the head or if it is just the blades that I am using. After the shave I binned the blade for a Personna. We will see if that does better.

Gear
All good in the hood.

Other Thoughts
Never startle your cat late at night. Blood may be spilled.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Shave Quality
The inaugural shave with the Psycho Tech was really, really good. I almost always get great results from a Tech, and this time there were no surprises. The shave was yet another two pass BBS that has my face feeling great. It was almost a grail shave. I over buffed in a couple of areas, so there is the tiniest bit of irritation. I don't think that will hang around long. the LT Disappearing Cream + AV ASB are taking care of it.

Gear
The Psycho Tech is a great addition to my den. I am going to enjoy using it. My only disappointment is that my key is a reproduction.

Strike Gold Shave makes a great AS splash as well as excellent soap. I recommend getting the matching splash when you buy the soap.

Other Thoughts
Car ownership is expensive, but maintenance costs are better than having to make payments on a new car. 104000 and counting.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

There’s something grand about having no car payments and being able to get your hand greasy without voiding a warranty. I do enjoy tinkering with my little fleet, (when I can get away with it)

Nice read Doug
Hope I never have another car payment. Work truck has 180,000 and Wife's Highlander is at 196,000...............I'll buy used when they replaced

Good shave!

I am kinda in the same place as you on that key, but it is what it is. I tend to work on our cars as well. And to think you can smell like gas, oil and dirt free of charge. Some vendors charge for that scent.

Repetitive greatness

Shave Quality
Yesterday's shave was really, really good. So, today I decided to go for the repeat. I think today's shave was even better. The Tech with GSB is a really efficient combination. The Strike Gold soap delivered great suds again. It was two passes of wonderful shaving. I need to do a bit less buffing, however, just to lessen the chance of giving myself razor burn. In spite of that today was two passes for BBS.

Gear
The Stirling Piacenza pre-shave oil is good stuff. I like the scent and the oil provides some extra protection. This was part of my 2018 Reindeer gift and I am really enjoying it. Thanks, Reindeer buddy!

I am going to keep my eye out for a vintage Psycho Tech key. I may never find one for a decent price, but I am going to keep looking.

Other Thoughts
Remember kids, fiber is important.

Overview
Semogue delivers, but synthetics are better.

Shave Quality
The lather for the past two days has been wet, sloppy, and less dense than I was getting with my synthetics. So, it is more of a straight shaving lather. It was quite enjoyable, but I like the lather I get from synthetics better. BBS, two passes, little residual irritation. All good in the shaving hood.

Gear
The SOC boar is great, and probably my favorite boar, but modern synthetics are so much better than boar.

Other Thoughts
Starting a few new projects, one knit, and two crochet. They should all work up quickly.
