Overview
I have been punched in the face by an Injector.

Shave Quality
I was able to get another BBS shave today. However, the G-Type Injector gave me quite a bit of razor burn. I think the blade was past its prime. After the shave I binned the blade. The lather was awesome. The AV balm combined with the Lucky Tiger Disappearing Cream was a great post-shave.

Gear
I love Injectors, but sometimes they don't love me.

The Grooming Dept. soaps are totally fabulous. This one smells great. It has really superior performance.

The Lucky Tiger Disappearing Cream is decent stuff. I think it is a great addition to the AV balm. On its own it is kind of meh.

Other Thoughts
I my latest crochet project, an afghan for my mother, is almost done. I just have to add the fringe. Yay!

DE blade tabs and ears do not make a good combination

Shave Quality
I really hate it when I nick my Tragus with the tab of a blade. It makes what is otherwise a good shave much less enjoyable. It didn't bleed much though. The shave is BBS with the usual minor irritation on my chin and neck. The Mission 3-piece razor felt like biting today. Besides the Tragus nick I got two more pinpricks in other places. Nothing was deep or bled much. Maybe tomorrow i will have a no-shave day.

Gear
The Mission is inexpensive and of decent quality. It shaves well but is nothing really special. I would call it a good entry-level DE except for the blade gap, which is a bit large. Overall it is a good piece of hardware.

I love Florida Water.

244.3 today. Next goal is getting below 240.

Shave Quality
I recently acquired a slightly used tub of CBL Roasted Oatmeal Stout from @Dagwoodz. Today I decided to haul it out for a nice shave. This one is not my favorite scent in the world, it is not bad, just not totally in my wheelhouse. That being said, it made for a pleasant but earthy shave. Oh, and it is slick as hell. The Fatip Piccolo skated across my face for just a hair shy of BBS in two passes.

Gear
CBL Roasted Oatmeal Stout is great soap. It is slick and protective with a earthy, roasty, toasty scent. While it is not my favorite CBL soap, it still beats the pants off of most of the other soaps that I have used. This one will be hanging around.

Fatip Piccolo. A great razor at a steal of a price. There should be one of these in every den.

Other Thoughts
I picked up my new glasses yesterday. It is my first pair of progressive lenses. These are going to take a bit of getting used to.

Shave Quality
If this is what it means to "shave like a President," then I want to do it more often. The shave today was amazingly good. I am BBS in two passes with no irritation afterwards. The OLD Type skated across my face. The soap gave me some of the best smelling, slickest, most protective lather that I have had in a long time. Today was a grail shave.

Gear
The Strike Gold soap is killer. It is totally Elite Tier, Box 1. The scent is amazing! It is light and crisp. The performance is really, really good. It is a really firm soap, so it took a wet brush to get a good load and it is quite thirsty. But, it produced some amazingly good lather. This is going to compete with CBL for top slot in my den. This soap, unless there are issues with future uses, is going into my top 5. This one would make for a seriously wonderful 3017.

The Strike Gold AS splash is a really good compliment to the shave soap. The scent has good strength. Also, there is plenty of skin food in the mix. I would definitely recommend getting the matching splash when you get this soap.

The Gillette OLD Type with a Gillette 7O'Clock green blade is a just the blade and razor combo that I needed for today's shave. The 7O'Clock Super Stainless is a sharp and smooth blade and in the OLD it knocked the whiskers down like they weren't even there.

Wow, wouldn't have thought that under those goofy labels is some great soap. Thanks for the review.

Excellent news on the health front! That will be a rewarding experience when you do get to go shopping I hope!

Nice shave today!

A happy Thursday shave.

Shave Quality
Today's shave was a little bit rougher than yesterday. I am going to attribute this to the blade change. The soap and aftershave are still top tier performers. And, I am still BBS after two passes. I could happily shave with this product everyday, in fact I think I am going to do that.

Gear
Gillette NEW LC... Good razor, but not as efficient as the OLD. Still a very pleasurable shave.

Lord SS... This is a good blade, but not as smooth and efficient as the Gillette 7O'Clock green that I used yesterday. I probably won't buy these in bulk, but it is a serviceable blade.

Lucky Tiger Vanishing Cream... This stuff is a little better than the Disappearing Cream. It has more skin food. It still feels like it is drying my face when I apply it, just like the Disappearing Cream does. Again, the added menthol is really nice, but I don't think this will be replacing the AV balm in my routine. It would make a good addition, however.

Other Thoughts
It is really fun trying new products. 2019 has really been a year of soapy discovery for me. This is quite awesome.

Almost grail again today. It was not quite as good as Wednesday, but better than yesterday. The Slim with the Ladas blade made short work of my whiskers. The Strike Gold soap is killing it. It was two passes of awesome with lots of blade buffing and only a tiny bit of irritation to show for it. Let's see how long it takes to 3017 this stuff.

Gear
Seriously, get some of this soap.

If you don't have a vintage Gillette adjustable, get one. They are great. Whether it is Fatboy, Slim, or Super Adjustable they are all really superior shavers.

Pics of my Weck/Hair Shaper collection and the afghan are coming. I haven't forgotten about those requests.
