Now yer thinkin' too hard!

I figger it's like the speed limit logic: post a speed you figure people will only exceed by 10 miles per and everybody thinks they're getting away with something!
That’s basically what I was told. And I gather it works well UNTIL we become wise to the game and routinely Purposely exceed The posted limits by the “secret” buffer amount. Then they have add a NEW super secret buffer so we all follow the something close to the goal.

So let's push the 6' because it is safer unless we need to cram more kids into a classroom and then lo and behold the real number is 3', except if your not in a classroom you still must be at 6'.
I think I got it.
but also remember some at MIT say 10 feet and at the cdc that it can travel between 12 and 23 feet so.........o_Oo_O:unsure::)

To be fair, they are only modeling fluid dynamics of air as it expelled (or expelled in a less than typical but humanly possible manner). The models use known conversions and math to project possibilities. These kind of models and demonstrations are useful in helping to establish big picture health and safety protocols and inform building codes etc, but they are more likely to confuse the public messaging and create fear and/or mistrust than be of use to the general public.

I agree... I was just saying they are constantly changing and telling us different distances... On another note has anyone else felt very uncomfortable in Wal-Mart recently ? As I said in another thread I was at a Wal-Mart tonight and I became so uncomfortable while ringing up that I completely forgot to ring up one of my frozen bags of merchandise.. One of the employees was nice enough to point out my error to me and I checked and saw she was right so after repeated apologizes and explaining why it happened I proceeded to ring up my missed items.. I was so embarrassed but the young girl understood.. We talked about my being uncomfortable because not one nor 2 or 3 but 4 different customers were all within my personal space !! I felt so crowded and it made me extremely uncomfortable because they were not even standing 1 foot away from me !!!! Why can't other people practice social distancing ??

I haven’t gone to Walmart to buy anything for months...won’t go. My wife has gone, but I don’t have the patients. I tried to go with her a month or two ago but when they greeted me in the parking lot with speakers playing a message telling me how much they care and want me to socially distance and wear a mask, I could barely get out of the car. Then I got halfway to the doors and saw a line...nope, don’t need anything that bad, I made my wife turn around. I have gone back twice, both time right as they open, the first time I was looking for something in grocery and got chastised for going they wrong direction’ down an isle so I left. The second time I tagged along with my wife, I used the app to locate what I wanted only to find everything they SAID was in store was NOT...so I waited in the car.

The main reason I went tonight was my wife Alicia had a prescription ready I had to pick up for her and got a few groceries... What I really hate is I try to follow the rules and ill be going down an aisle the right way and people will be going the wrong way and they expect me to get out of their way so they can go the wrong way and they act like they are getting mad if I dont....

I don’t like that my wife goes, just because places like Walmart and Target tend to be heavy use, heavy turn-over locations with higher exposure potential. I can appreciate that Walmart felt that controlling flow would be beneficial, it shows that someone was thinking. I think the failure point was two-fold; forcing people to follow a directional arrow in a store like Walmart makes the act of shopping more difficult (especially if you’ve developed personal patterns), AND with all the other restrictions and mandates being heaped upon us, adding MORE seemingly meaningless rules inevitably leads to inflamed tempers. I can personally say, at 7:10 am the store EMPLOYEE had no reason to draw attention to my non-compliance with the directional arrows.

As an aside, my early morning trip (the one that I DIDN’T find what the app said was on a particular aisle and shelf) I happened to see their cool multi-spectrum UV robot sterilizing the toy aisle...how cool is THAT.

Yeah I agree a lot of this stuff feels dumb but at the same time I understand what they are trying to do. I guess my problem is with the people getting mad when we follow the rules and they don't. I mean there was no reason for the person going the wrong way to get mad at me for going the right one. Oh and I agree I hate going to those places too but my wife needed her prescription.

Yesterday, for the very first time since the pandemic started, I found a supply of isopropyl alcohol at the grocer! I was hoping to try 90% but there was only the same 70% I normally get, but I’ll take it!

I was able to order FFP2 masks. Our goverment said that FFP2 masks where only for the people in the healthcare, but I heard that the seller offered these masks to healthcare instutions, but they were rejected because they were not tested.

Got my Orioles mask just in time for Baseball season!

Dig those glasses my friend!

Us Tigers were blessed with Sparky Anderson, you guys had another Firecracker who's name escapes me. You also had some studs on the mound....

I just don't follow pro sports like I should. I'm addicted to Kollege sports now. Hope they get to play in the Fall!

Earl somebody.... I don't recommend brain bleeds, lol. I have a Swiss cheese brain and a poor filter!

Weaver! Earl Weaver? And who was their A1 pitcher from those days? I THINK he's in the HOF....
Jim Palmer. He was great, and is still very happy to tell you about it. I hope we get some College sports too, but I'm not counting on it. And yes, Palmer is in the HOF.

Kinda reminds me of the old Captain of the RedWings.... Dang... Oh, Steve Yzerman? Probably spelled it wrong. It's funny, I had just remembered Jim Palmer's name before you posted it!

But Palmer and Yzerman? were both guys that had leading man good looks.

Ya know, the guys I would've hated in high skool!

Palmer still looks good, except for his quarantine beard! He's done color commentary for the Orioles broadcasts for years. I haven't thought about Yzerman in a long time!
