I don’t like that my wife goes, just because places like Walmart and Target tend to be heavy use, heavy turn-over locations with higher exposure potential. I can appreciate that Walmart felt that controlling flow would be beneficial, it shows that someone was thinking. I think the failure point was two-fold; forcing people to follow a directional arrow in a store like Walmart makes the act of shopping more difficult (especially if you’ve developed personal patterns), AND with all the other restrictions and mandates being heaped upon us, adding MORE seemingly meaningless rules inevitably leads to inflamed tempers. I can personally say, at 7:10 am the store EMPLOYEE had no reason to draw attention to my non-compliance with the directional arrows.
As an aside, my early morning trip (the one that I DIDN’T find what the app said was on a particular aisle and shelf) I happened to see their cool multi-spectrum UV robot sterilizing the toy aisle...how cool is THAT.
