Chad's adventures of shaving, officiating, and life

I love Mystic Water Shave Sticks! Might be the best shave stick out there! I hope she never stops making them.

Have a good time with family Chad

LOL this made me laugh the gif that is. I love a good evening of Poker with the buddies.

Sounds like a fun weekend Chad, enjoy!

Thanks it sure was.

Sweet! Getting a jump on Christmas

That we did. Another Christmas party this coming weekend

I agree they are fantastic!

Razor: Timeless .68 Gap
Blade: Timor (2)
Soap/cream: CBL Watson
Brush: Razorock F400
Aftershave1: Humphrey's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: English Leather

Well today was another use of a fun soap, I really like this scent from CBL, and of his newish release of the smaller tubs this might actually be my favorite. I love the leather not to it. It paired perfectly with the English Leather which is also a favorite of mine. Which leads me to a question. I have checked a couple Walgreens and CVS, and I have not found those holiday packs this year. And if I have they are usually just a Gillette shaving pack. Anyone else seeing these around? I was hoping to pick up a couple to stock up.

Well yesterday the ham was delicious and we had an excellent evening. Wild Turkey might have helped a little bit, but hey it's that time of year. Kids and Nieces had a great time. All in all a very nice Sunday. Hoping for a good Monday. Have a good day Cadre.

Nice shave Chad! I was in Rite Aid over the weekend and didn’t see any gift sets at all. If I happen to hit a Walgreens or CVS this week I’ll keep an eye out for ya.

Mmm holiday ham, my favorite holiday meat, more than turkey and roast! Fun time.

I love ham! LOVE IT!

Looks like your keeping busy in a good way now without work overwhelming ya. Good stuff!

Well work is work. I have a lot to get done this week before I take 10 days off.

Nice shave Chad. Not seen English Leather gift pack but a Stetson AS and Cologne was seen I may go back for.

I am good on Stetson. I actually keep an eye out on ebay for some vintage bottles, but haven't found one yet, I like.

Razor: Razorock SLOC
Blade: Parker (3)
Soap/cream: La Toja
Brush: Paladin Pk47
Aftershave1: Humphrey's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: La Toja

Well today I wanted to use another Shave Stick. I love using shave sticks, and I grabbed the La Toja which is a favorite of mine for sure! I got an excellent lather and the Paladin just has excellent face feel. The Parker blade just keeps performing and honestly might end up being my all time favorite blade. See the bad blade series can provide some good. Although if you saw my most recent mail call I think you will see that I have some questionable shaves on the horizon. But one at a time and today's was excellent!

Well it is the last work week of the year, and I need to get my self evaluation done before the end. I am ready for some time off. Yesterday I had a union meeting and if you remember from last time, we have decided to combat the sportsmanship problems of the sport, and treatment of officials by coaches, players, and fans. In the month of January when region play is at its highest we will be wearing a bright blue wristband during games to show solidarity. We have also been instructed to offer no warnings, go straight to technicals if coaches or players are out of line. The newspaper was at our meeting and this getting quite the buzz. When the story is ran in the paper in January I will post links for those that interested. But regardless I have a game tonight and am ready to take the floor.

Have a great day Cadre.

Nice soaps and set ups, Chad. I may need to re-visit the La Toja stick one day, but when I previously had the stick, it did not like my ole mug. I do enjoy the La Toja cream for sensitive skin - same great scent, and it likes my ole mug just fine.

Good stuff Chad. I agree, coaches and players know how they are supposed to behave by this point.

Good shave Chad! La Toja is my go to travel stick!

Hope this new push of solidarity and focus on improving sportsmanship do the charm for your leagues. Time to bring a bit more respect back to the game! Have a good game tonight!

Nice shave Chad! I’ve had my eye on that RR SLOC for a bit. Where would you rank that as far as aggressiveness?

As for the union issues, I think it’s great that you guys are sticking together and taking a stand. Sportsmanship is something that should be taught at a much younger age than you are involved with. It’s even worse that the coaches are part of the problem. I hope you guys can make some headway and teach these people how to conduct themselves.

I remember that. I personally haven't tried the cream. Perhaps I will get a tube one day. But I really like the Stick and would prefer to stick to that (pun intended lol)

Nice shave Chad. I'll have to get some Parker blades to try.

Writing self-evaluations is the worst!

They are worth trying. And yes self-evals SUCK!

Good stuff Chad. I agree, coaches and players know how they are supposed to behave by this point.

There is a difference between being passionate and just being jerk. In sports it is a fine line sadly too many times.

I like to travel with it alot too.

The SLOC is definitely more on the mild side, but super comfortable. It is a favorite razor of mine.

Razor: Timeless .68
Blade: MEM (1)
Soap/cream: Stirling Bay Lime
Brush: Stirling Finest Fan
Aftershave1: Humphrey's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Stirling Bay Lime

Well today I whipped up a lather of the Stirling Bay Lime, this is a fantastic bay rum scent with the lime that pairs perfectly. I really enjoy this scent and the performance of this soap. The shave was okay, but the blade played a role in a sub-par shave. More on that in the bad blade series.

Well the game went well yesterday and tonight I have the night off, before a game Thursday and then a double header Friday. Then some time off to relax and recoup with the family. Hope you all have a great day.

Razor: Timeless .68
Blade: MEM (2)
Soap/cream: Soap Commander Serenity
Brush: Stirling Boar
Aftershave1: Humphrey's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Soap Commander Serenity

Well today I reached for a favorite winter scent of mine. This is described as Crackling Birch and I really like this woodsy scent. It doesn't have the campfire on fire smell which is nice. But does have a slight smoky vibe to it. I really like this one, but any smokier and I am a no go for sure. The shave today went okay, lather was good. The blade is a no go for sure. It was not good.
