That is a real bummer about the bowl, especially since it was a gift. I’m in the Turkish bowl camp, cheap and indestructible.

So I remembered that from my College Pottery classes I had a couple of bowls that might work, found this gem. Was always too small and not deep enough for soup or cereal etc.

Who would've known that 11 years ago I would've made myself a shaving bowl.

Nice bowl Chad, although I see you were still working on your penmanship. Pretty cool, let us know how it works building lather.

Being a tad bit more wide than the Capt. Choice bowl it was kind of difficult to hold, but the lather was super nice this morning. I enjoyed using a bowl I made. As to my penmanship yes I know it is horrible, Anyone who has received anything from me in the mail knows that.

So what I hear you say is that you will soon have a vendor tag by your avatar?

Oh Don... I actually really enjoyed pottery. I had to take an art class so signed up, I enjoyed it so much I ended up doing 3 more semesters of it. Actually I made our Thanksgiving serving set in porcelain. Serving tray, gravy boat, plates, cups, and pitcher. I can go back to campus and get in for free and only pay for they clay and stains. But it is just too much out of the way to get there consistently. One day I would actually like to own a wheel and a kiln but that isn't in the cards anytime soon. Pottery was the one time where I actually felt like I could express myself in art. Because when it comes to painting, drawing, coloring, etc let's just say my 4 year does better than I.

Straight Shave #214
Razor: Feather SS
Blade: Schick ProLine (2)
Soap/cream: Vreto Cedar Sandalwood
Brush: Stirling Kong
Aftershave1: Humphrey's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Fine Santal Absolut

Well today I grabbed another sample that I haven't used yet, the Vreto Cedar Sandalwood. I am very picky when it comes to Sandalwood and woodsy scents in general. But when done right I really enjoy them. Sadly this one is NOT doing for me scent wise. the cedar and sandalwood in my opinion was just not blended well together and just not a fan. However the performance of the soap was actually VERY good. I haven't used this brand before and have heard some good things. I actually enjoyed it quite well. Perhaps some day down the road I will see what other scents they offer. I enjoyed using my homemade lather bowl too, you can see pics above.

Homefront:

Well a busy day today lined up. After work I have a double header doing the early games at the high school down the street. After that I have to head up to Church for a Knights meeting. There we will be grading the poster contests that we run at the school where the theme is "Keep Christ in Christmas" it is a great way to have the holiday focus on what it is truly supposed to be about and not all the commercialization that has taken over. Tomorrow is Connor's school program so I took the day off so I can attend that. Should make a fun day tomorrow. Hope you all have a great day!
