Chad's adventures of shaving, officiating, and life

Catching up, Chad. Sad news about the bad coaches, and even sadder that the schools aren't doing anything about it. But good on you guys for banding together.

Re: Paladin brush. Have you used it with a really hard soap yet? (I'm unfamiliar with the last couple you used). The one I have really shines with the soaps like Mike's, Tabac, etc....

Love the Paladin man! And hope the snow doesn't get worse. Keep at it with the refereeing man. It is sometimes a thankless jobs due to players, coaches, fans but a necessity for recreational sports. Keep up the good work man.

Be careful out there Chad!

I helped coached he’s my step son’s little league team for a few seasons, and part of the coaching duties included umpiring games in the other age groups. We were all volunteers helping out in an instructional league, but some of these other coaches treated it like the MLB and they were getting paid millions to win.

I like that . Make the coaches experience officiating, a good way to understand the game from a different perspective.

Thanks Chris. I did use the brush on the Stubble Buster which I would say is about as hard as Stirling. Nothing harder yet, but I did use it on Mystic Waters today which is about same consistency.

Razor: Timeless .68
Blade: Parker Blade (2)
Soap/cream: Mystic Waters Coconut Sandalwood
Brush: Paladin Pk-47
Aftershave1: Humphrey's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Myrsol Formula K
Cologne: Penhaligons Endymion

Well today I grabbed a soap that reminds me of summer because the 8 degrees when I left the school yesterday was too cold! I really enjoy this scent, and the shave was wonderful! The brush is breaking in nicely and I am starting to notice some curling to the tips of the brush, the face feel is wonderful!

I finished the shave with the Myrsol Formula K which is also COLD! BRRRR.

Homefront:

Well it's not all bad. Yesterday when I got the school I was greeted by the AD (athletic director) who took me to the locker room while I waiting for my partners. He had a nice sign posted in the locker room that thanked us for being there, stated that a dinner would be provided for us (pizza), there was a cooler full of water and gatorade, and his phone number to call if we needed anything. This school is known for treating officials well and while they go way over the top it is something that is greatly appreciated. Officials don't need much, just some cold water, a locker room, and an AD that is present in case problems arise. The pizza was a nice touch though.

Have a great day cadre!

Very nice gesture on his part. Hopefully the good will can spread a bit. I'll be interested to see how refs are treated at the high school level next year vs middle school.

What's your process for the MW soap. I have been having trouble getting it dialed in.

Thanks for reading. Officiating is always an interesting ride.

Mmm Myrsol K!

Glad the reffing was a positive experience amidst a doubtful time.

Thanks Chris!

Coolness Chad !! Glad it went well.

Thanks Dave

Whatever your loading time is... double it. Then SLOWLY add water. You can over hydrate VERY quickly.

Razor: Parker Variant
Blade: Parker Blade (3)
Soap/cream: The Club Signature
Brush: Paladin Pk-47
Aftershave1: Humphrey's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Alpa 347

Well kind of an all over the place shave today. I reached for a sample from my soap sample swap adventure and initial scent was actually very nice. Enjoyable actually. But then something weird happened once I lathered it. I can only describe it as a sour note. I'm not sure what all the notes are in this soap. Perhaps some the club members can chime in. But sour is the best way I can describe it. It wasn't overly unpleasant but was enough to have me say nah... on the potential full tub purchase.

Next I used the Alpa Aftershave that was PIFed to me by GearNoir. This is a nice fougere type scent, that reminds me of the Aqua Velva Green. It is quite enjoyable and I am happy I won.

Well today I have a team building offsite this afternoon to close out the year, so get to leave the office early. This evening we might go see some christmas lights but haven't dceided yet. Hope you all have a great day!

I think that Alpa 347 might be the only Alpa a/s that I haven't tried thus far. Sounds interesting.

Here's the description Chad:

We took our event soap 'The Loft' and increased the badassery aspect of the scent and presentation. I wanted to change it up a bit and increased the bourbon note and tobacco note to scream out masculinity. This is not necessarily the scent of a gentleman, although it's beautifully woven like a fine tailored suit. The notes include Bourbon, Tobacco Absolute and Sandalwood. I blended both Arabian Sandalwood, as well as Tunisian Sandalwood notes for this offering. To round out the base, I added a bit of Agarwood.

Hmmm interesting. Perhaps sour isn't the best way to describe because then I think spoiled and that is definitely not the case. Perhaps I will need to try it again.

Next shave...Chad uses sour milk as prep! ?

Glad you enjoyed the Alpa today. Have fun doing trust-fall exercises! ?
