Straight Shave #209

Razor: Feather SS Limey
Blade: Feather ProGuard (1)
Soap/cream: Haslinger Shafmilch
Brush: Stirling Boar
Aftershave1: Humphrey's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Pinaud Gent's Gin

Well had a great shave today. It felt good and a little awkward to have a straight back in the hand but I did get a good shave. I did cheat and did clean up with my Injectah.Which means a BBS shave was had. I reached for the Haslinger mainly because I haven't used it in awhile and I was rewarded with a wonderful shave... the nightmares came back from that time I did the Shafmilch vs. MWF *shudders* not planning on doing that again. Also has me thinking the Cadre hasn't discussed MWF at all I do believe. Will it make an appearance as the temps continue to drop across the US? I finished the shave with the Gent's Gin from Pinaud. Great stuff!

Well the halloween festivities are past us and we had a great time! Connor loved his Stegosaurus costume and Sadie made a darling witch. Megan was also a witch, and I was dress as a Baboon. Megan said it was fitting lol. We attend the neighborhood trunk or treat where at the community park cars back around the perimeter and then the fun begins. We brought 1000 pieces of candy, and 250 small jars of play doh. It all lasted 25 min! But the kids filled their buckets. Sadie wasn't so sure about it at first but once she saw it was candy they were putting in her bucket she was game!

We then went back home and handed out a little bit of candy to the older kids who want to go door to door. Lights were off though at about 7:45 PM and kids put to bed. It was a school night after all.

Anyways hope you all have a great day!

I dislike MWF very much. I can't get the bloody stuff to lather. Every complaint everyone has ever had about Williams...... applies to MWF for me. I load the crap out of it, and it still disappears on my face. And the puck didn't last very long for me, as I was loading so heavily. I swear I got less than 30 shaves from it. And at the end, it just crumbled into little bits that I couldn't even use.

Nice container though.....

I am up for some MWF. It worked great for me. I need to get a refill puck, however. I could also go for some Haslinger Schafmilch.

It is a very nice container, but I also can not get the soap to lather! It takes witchcraft and sacrificial pig or chicken to get it to lather I hear.

Sounds like a great time with the kiddos

Certainly was.

You aren't missing anything.

Haslinger is much better in my opinion.

Great evening with the family there Chad!

Never used MWF or Haslinger so I guess I’m spared that catastrophe!

It has been over a year since I last used MWF, but I remember getting good results from it. I didn't find it any harder to lather than Williams, but maybe I just have good water for it or something...

I will have to give it another go and see if I still think the results are good.

I think I have only ever had 2 serviceable lathers from MWF. So I do know it is possible.

Straight Shave #210

Razor: Feather SS Limey
Blade: Feather ProGuard (2)
Soap/cream: Cherry City Roasted Oatmeal Stout
Brush: Envy Shave Ute Brush
Aftershave1: Humphrey's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Cherry City Roasted Oatmeal Stout Sample

Alright well another nice shave this morning, although did get a small murphy bite on my chin during my ATG pass. A little bit ago I had another purchase from Cherry City because I wanted to buy this soap after I was sent a sample in my last order. This one is AWESOME smells great, not quite the beer smell that CBL soap has to my nose, but still very good and heavenly! The re-visit of this soap confirmed for me that this a tier 2 soap bordering on tier 1. This is a company I will follow and whenever a scent intrigues me, I will probably take the plunge. Very good and fun soap. As you can see in my SOTD pic I did call an audible, I took the pic last night and realized that I had to use my Ute brush! The real winner of the shave was the aftershave sample he sent, WOW this was good. I am going to have to order a bottle soon. The scent is great and now with this soap, the CBL roasted Oatmeal, and the CBL Harvest Oud I will need a bottle of this to pair with them all.
