Chad's adventures of shaving, officiating, and life

The Holy Black Soaps are just going to have to be one of those things that you really like the scent and the experience of it. A couple years ago...THB would have been the best soap on the market. Today...it's just nostalgia.

Nice shave! Sounds like an interesting scent. Enjoy the day!

Thanks! The scent was definitely nice!

Good shave! Bummer that the performance was middling. Any idea on comparison to their limited special releases? Same wheelhouse of performance?

Thanks Chris. But honestly I can't answer your question. I have not done enough research. But what I will say and I went into this on my shave video. The ingredients will let you know that it's not going to have the same post shave feel as some of favorite soaps that we all use. But it is CRAZY slick!

I don't get much longevity from the Bic blade either. Nice shave Chad

Thanks Dave. The first shave with the blade was good but it was downhill from there.

I agree Don at least based off one use LOL.

Okay everyone calm down. I know you are all jealous! Yes this is Fabric Softener scent! So good!!! It is a small tub that Chris sent me right before he officially launched his soap business. I love this scent! The shave was fantastic! And I opted to finished it off with just a balm as I am trying to see how the longevity is with these Stirling EdT's this one is a sample but spot on to the soap and aftershave I own too.

GO RED SOX!!! Yesterday I got the lawns mowed, sprinkler system winterized, pop up trailer winterized, and pulled out the garden. We also removed the planter boxes because we want to make that whole side of the house a garden next year so we got a jumpstart on the work. But with a day yesterday that topped out at 73 degrees we welcomed the warmth! Anyways now playing catch up on the cadre after a busy sunday! Have a good day everyone.

Man, you were on a mission yesterday, well done!

I do like the smell of fresh linen some air scent products put out...fabric freshener though...I dunno! ?

I will leave you to all of those types of scents!

Well today was a fun day of shaving! I grabbed a soap I have not used in a long time and I have no good reason for not using it. Uncle Jon's Gravity. The scent is the winner on this soap. Very nice outdoorsy smell with some vetiver, vanilla, and cardamom to round it all out. Great stuff. Paired with the aftershave I smell great. The performance of this soap I compare to WSP Rustic formula. It is a good soap.

Well game assignments came out yesterday and I will not be working any semi-final games this year. My high school football season has come to an end. Although I did take some championship little league games fro this saturday. So it isn't all over. Then basketball will be fully on my mind! Aside from that not much else to report. Just prepping for Halloween.

Bummer about not getting any more of the high school games! You’ve done good this season though and gained more experience; definitely something to be proud of!

Good shave today.

Thanks Chris and I am not upset at all! I went into this season with two goals, 1. get better and 2. work a full varsity schedule. I did BOTH. So getting the one playoff game I did was icing on the cake! Next year my goal will be semi-finals then after that championship!

I picture a final scene where Chad lowers his whistle into a wooden box and then slowly lowers the lid. Until next season buddy.

A moment of silence!

Lol! I hope he at least washed it out first.

Does the first retired whistle get bronzed?

I actually do wash my whistles, and my first retired whistle is LONG gone.

Can you wear those out?

If you guys really want pics of whistles I can supply them. But let me tell you they are DISGUSTING. Think about it for a minute.

I soak mine in hot water with dawn dish soap after each week.

A football whistle for me usually lasts about 5-6 games on average sometimes more. After my games Saturday I will have worked 67 football games this season. A basketball whistle lasts about 2-3 games, but for basketball you literally keep the whistle in your mouth the whole game. Only removing it for free throw administration and timeouts.

The most common thing to cause a whistle to be retired is cracking due to teeth. Your teeth hold the whistle in your mouth so you bite down when blowing it.

Well this soap surprised me on many levels! For a Vegan soap to hit tier 1 is not an easy task and this did it. WOW what a great soap. Residual slickness was amazing and so was post shave feel. The only real knock I have on it is I wish the scent strength was a little higher. I put this at a 2/5. Overall very good though! I uploaded a video too where I go over it in more detail.
