Chad's adventures of shaving, officiating, and life

Razor: Rockwell 6S plate 5
Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Yellow (3)
Soap/cream: Declaration Grooming Icarus Shore
Brush: Razorock Synthetic
Aftershave1: Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Declaration Grooming Shore

Okay so first let me say I had VERY high expectations going into this shave. It has been talked of very highly! Yesterday I received it in the mail and recorded an unboxing and then recorded the shave. They will be posted soon. But anyways the shave. The lather was VERY good actually who am I kidding it was fantastic. The All points were great. Although I think I could have added a touch more water and had it even better. It is crazy slick and the protection/cushion is awesome. I am not going to offer a rating yet until I use it a few more times and make sure that this isn't just the newness talking. But so far everything seems very promising.

Then there is the aftershave. I know this is a strong word but it sucks. The scent is there, but the menthol is WAY too high. And then it feels like a sticky tacky mess on your face. What a let down. I am glad I didn't buy the matching aftershave for the other soap I bought from them. With how good the soap is, really all I need is an alcohol based splash with scent. Sadly the aftershave really ruins the experience. And the longevity isn't very good either. Here I sit post shave 90 minutes and it is barely noticeable. What do others think of this aftershave?

Homefront:

Well today is the day I take the football field and I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve begging his parents to let him open the presents NOW! This weekend is pretty busy I have one last clinic tomorrow before the season officially starts next week, and we have some school shopping. Connor starts on Monday. I also fly out Monday so have all that going on too. I hope you all have a great weekend!

What a dichotomy today. Excellent soap, terrible aftershave. But at least it was the soap that was the good part!

Have fun on the grid iron.

Nice shave and video Chad. I'm with Chris on this, be glad it wasn't an awful soap and great aftershave. I'm not even going to make fun of you in your video.

Shore sound like a conundrum! ?

Glad the shave was good at least.

Have a great day on the field!

Sorry you did not like the aftershave Chad. But heck, it's football season! Oh, and the Steelers beat the National Champs last night! Not that it matters, but we'll take it.

Thanks Walt. And glad football is back!

I still need to watch your video Chad...I'll get to it in a bit. But sorry to hear about the AS. I just tried the Vide Poche this morning by DG/Chatillon Lux and the AS by Chatillon Lux. Just looking at the ingredients in the Shore AS, I don't think they are the same at all. I rather enjoyed my VP AS. Glad you are pack into the swing of things with Football. Looking forward to your stories again!

Great job on the fitness routine Chad!

So a Great shave and 50/50 shave so that like 75% right? Not bad!

Razor: Rockwell 6S plate 5
Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Yellow (4)
Soap/cream: Captain's Choice North
Brush: Stirling Boar
Aftershave1: Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Captain's Choice North

Well I had a good shave today I used the Captain's Choice North I was able to get a excellent lather and also received a great shave. The north is one of my favorite scents from Captain's Choice. however Murphy did visit today while trying to do some blade buffing I accidentally slid the blade the wrong direction and the Rockwell bit me it's just a small slice but none-the-less Murphy visited. aside from the Murphy visit I would call this a DFS plus I didn't chase today as I have a fairly early morning.

Home front

Nothing crazy on the homefront today tonight I will be playing mr. Mom as Megan will be going out for a ladies night with her mom and her two sister-in-laws. this will be very interesting because I'm responsible for getting both kids to sleep tonight and Sadie has been a big-time Mama's girl.

as far as the football game yesterday it was the local high schools green versus White scrimmage game they chose to treat it like a real game
so we have the national anthem to begin we had them halftime performance we did the whole nine yards so to speak it was a great time. the only weird thing was obviously it being a scrimmage the coach wanted to have no play clock he wanted to give his quarterbacks enough time as they are both starting for their first year and he also wanted a full running clock so the game went rather quickly. the hardest thing is this morning being outside running in the smoke-filled air from all the fires in California Nevada and Utah my lungs are a little sore honestly and my nose is overly congested. the only real crazy play that can be discussed was the coach was trying to do a end around where the quarterback has an option to either pitch run or pass the three times at the quarterback passed the offensive line was beyond the line of scrimmage so we had illegal man downfield so we is officials took it upon ourselves to use it as a teaching experie and explain to the coach what was wrong as well as the players hopefully as the season progresses they're able to do this play without being overly penalized. I also received my game assignment for next Friday to begin the season it is 40 minutes away and I will be seeing the region 7 champions from last year I'm very excited to get this season underway and I hope you all are looking forward to more football stories.

Anyways I am now on my way to another football clinic this morning. I hope you all have a great day talk to you soon Cadre.

Megan's gone for 5 minutes. Sadie finds a dried water color paint. Thankfully it's nontoxic

Okay I love the Sadie Pic! You must be sure and shave that one to show to potential boyfriends in the future!

Seems Mr. M was having a little field day in the cadre over the last few days. Other wise great shave, read, and picture!
