Chad's adventures of shaving, officiating, and life

Friday night lights are undoubtedly better in the fall. You’ve been working hard during the off season I’m sure it will show in your games.

Thanks Chris. I am like a kid at Christmas this time of year.

Finally caught up Chad! Great trips, shaves and congratulations on the rating!!

Thanks Josh!

Great Shave Chad, see you need to keep the 6s

It is very tempting to keep. But part of me still thinks I need to sell it. I am going to use it the rest of this week and then make a decision.

Nice shave. Rockwell makes a solid razor.

That they do. Thanks Doug.

Great shave and picture Chad!

Thanks Craig.

Razor: Rockwell 6S plate 5
Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Yellow (2)
Soap/cream: K Shave Worx Shaping Up
Brush: TSC Member Brush
Aftershave1: Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Brut

Well today I swapped out for the #5 base plate, this is the plate for me that's for sure. I barely even needed a clean-up pass. Then I grabbed a soap that in my opinion doesn't get enough love. K Shave Worx I really enjoy this soap, and I own 4 different soaps currently and I get fantastic shaves. What I really love is that you can buy a 2 oz tub if you like, which is my preferred method, easier to manage, store, and it seems more likely I can use it. The Shaping Up scent is a Brut interpretation and it is SPOT on! I am in Brut heaven today and had an excellent shave! This is a Solid Tier 1 Box 4 soap. It does have some limitations but it hits all the areas that are important to ensure that the lather won't be the cause of a bad shave!

Homefront:

Well today I have a meeting with my trainer at the gym after work. On my scale I have lost 15 pounds over the summer. With camping, BBQ, and alcohol I am pretty happy with that, and I am expecting my trainer to be happy also. She is giving me a new workout routine like she does every year before football season. One that is more focused on strength instead of cardio since obviously I will be getting PLENTY of cardio on the field. I have been attending a lot Ab workout classes also during this time. At the beginning in end of May I could hold a 20 second plank in perfect form. Yesterday in the gym I held a 3min and 30sec plank in perfect form! I am so proud of my progress.

Anyways I am preparing in the office today for my travel as I will be on business travel 8/13 thru 8/17, and then on 8/20 thru 8/22 I will be on vacation for what might be our last camping trip of the year.

Hope you all have a great day Cadre!

Well, I was going to put a gif of 6-pack abs here, but they were all kinda gross.

Nice entry, Chad! I took a look at a few K-Shave Worx soaps and didn't find one that really grabbed me from a scent perspective. Some were nice, but nothing that "wow'd" me enough to pull the trigger. Great job over the past few months with the weight loss, something that I've fallen behind on, personally. The new workout regimen will help with the leaning out, though you might stagnate in actual weight loss over that time, even with the amount of cardio you'll be doing on the field, and later on the court during BB season.

I don't think I will ever have a traditional toned abs of any kind to be completely honest. But I do like feeling stronger.

Thanks Josh. There is a new release tomorrow from K Shave Worx that is Iced Tea, Lemonade, and Strawberry. It seems really interesting to me and I will probably pick up the 2oz variety.

As to the weight loss, I am sure as you know it is a lifestyle change. During the football and basketball season I tend to usually put on muscle because I do tend to eat more carbs for fuel so I usually don't see significant weight loss but I do tend to add muscle. At least that is how it has been in the past. Although this season after meeting with my doctor for physical, and talking to the nutritionist I am going to be focusing on slightly less carbs than normal, I guess we will see how it goes. This season I am really pulling out all the stops. I want to get stronger, have better endurance, and hopefully finish the season healthier than I started it. Thankfully I have my trainer, nutritionist, and doctor all on the same page with me. Last season I ended it feeling exhausted and beat! Which lead me to eat more than I should have at the end of the season so I really ruined what progress I gained during the season. I don't want to do that this year. I want to transition into basketball season very smoothly this year.

Good shave! Soap sounds great, can’t go wrong with Brut.

Good luck with the new regimen and getting things lined up at the office!

Dude! You are crushing it with the weight loss! Not only that but with the fitness also! Looks like all is well in the Vargo household!

Congrats on the weight loss and the fitness improvements. Great shave also.

Thanks Doug. Much appreciated.

Thanks Don. I am really trying to stick to the lifestyle change. It was a little discouraging when I came home from camping because I gained 4 pounds. But I just told myself I earned it, and jumped back onto my plan.

Great job on the conditioning, Chad!

Now, as to the K Shave Worx "Shaping Up" soap....well, I'm glad that it works well for you. With the water at my house it was about a Tier 2 or even 3 in terms of performance; and the scent was sort of like Brut I suppose....maybe.

I remember that one. And I still feel bad that I recommended it, you bought it, and it didn't strike your fancy.
