Chad's adventures of shaving, officiating, and life

You Need a Coop for them to sleep in and Laying boxes. a Run is optional depending on if you want chicken poop all over your back yard and what the local predators are like. I say get some!

Would I need heat lamps and all that stuff in the winter?

Good stuff Chad! My sister-in-law has anywhere between 10 and 15 ducks at any given time and she lives in North Western Pennsylvania. She does have a big coop (stationary) for her ducks. They go in at night to protect them from coyotes and raccoons. She keeps them through winter and has only lost a couple to predators. She has lost a few to the roaster though (some males got too aggressive with her females...don't mess with the females).

I have friends that have chickens too. You get a few ducks or a few chickens...and you will have the best eggs you can get and plenty of them!

Nah, Chickens are really cold hardy. heat is where they can get into trouble. mostly they just need a place to lay their eggs and a place to perch for the night that is out of the elements and closed to predators.

I will note that if you are raising from chicks they WILL need to be kept inside and with a 24hr heat lamp. once they are fully feathered they are good though

Razor: Parker Variant set to 3
Blade: Gillette Permasharp (3)
Soap/cream: Stirling Boat Drinks
Brush: AP Gold Brush
Aftershave1: Witch Hazel Cucumber
Aftershave2: Stirling Boat Drinks

Well today marked 21 shaves in a row with this soap and while cleaning gear afterwards I saw the bottom of the tub. There is still a lot of soap in here so I think another 20-30 shaves easy... but the bottom of the tub is always a nice sight.

Also used the new brush today from a drunken purchase. I actually really like it. The knot is very soft and the handle is hefty. I might need to look more into these AP guys.

Homefront

Still work at home and still crazy. School ends in a week then the bordeom for the kids will really set in... and the wife! Today I am going to meet a good friend for a socially distance lunch at our favorite restaurant. We ordered to go and plan to eat outside in the parking lot. It will be good to catch up with a friend. He works in my old department. So I haven't really talked to him at all. Should be nice.

Dang Chad, loading the Stirling all fast n furious! I’ve got a handful of shaves in on Hipster and I don’t think I’ve even made a dent yet.

Have a good lunch meeting!

Well was in the mood today... The mood for straight shave. So I grabbed the Genco that I think @CBLindsay sent me or it might have been @BarberDave either way it was honed up real well and sent to me awhile back. Lathered up got it perfect and settled in for a nice shave. Yes overtime I've destroyed this edge. But I suffered through the first pass. Then I grabbed my game changer and cleaned up the next two passes and walked away feeling BBS with the slightest burn I'm sure from the straight. I need to learn to strop and honestly probably need a new strop.

Sotd pic yup a pic! Watch out Don!

Home front

We've been getting some crazy winds earlier this week and I noticed a few shingles flapping so had a claims adjuster come out because I thought the roof was at least 18 years old. His inspection said the room is only about 12 years old has half life left, and the two shingles that were flapping came easily be tacked down. So uh... I'm going on the roof today because the supplies cost me $10... Roofing company wanted $500! Did I mention I hate heights!

Any ways have a good day all!

Well, I was excited to see the straight shave, but then the story turned to tragedy.

$500 to tack a few shingles?

I think you deserve a nice new bottle of whiskey for the money you saved.

Razor: Vector
Blade: Schick Proline (4)
Soap/cream: Stirling Boat Drinks
Brush: CBL Synthetic
Aftershave1: Lucky Tiger
Aftershave2: Stirling Boat Drinks

Well today I say goodbye to the Boat Drinks. It was a solid 30 shaves of awesome. I am not sure what the next 3017 victim will be first I have like 8 CBL soaps that need to be used first and an SV order coming in soon. So the next 3017 victim will be chosen soon. I am thinking of a Razorock soap, but we shall see.
