Chad's adventures of shaving, officiating, and life

Gosh the fear of legal issues must be real. I’d be super irritated at that conversation.
HM: You know how HR can be be so I don't want to say anything definitive.
I guess that’s their disclaimer...”Well buddy, as long as you don’t royally screw up before the HR guy gets back, it’s looking pretty good!”
Darn HR...

Yes this is a REAL journal entry

2/15/2020
Razor: Timeless .68
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (1)
Soap/cream: LEA Shave Soap
Brush: TSC 1st Anniversary Brush
Aftershave1: Lucky Tiger
Aftershave2: Dragonsbeard Skin Food Splash

Okay I figured with all the new stuff I would do a traditional journal entry. First the soap this comes recommended by @dkeester and I was very impressed by this soap. Watch my video to see more. The lather was fantastic and very easy to build. The scent reminds me of Florida Water too which is nice. I would rate this soap a solid Tier 1 Box 4 soap after one use, it might climb up in the ranking with more use but the only thing I would knock it on is post shave feel. But like Doug mentioned if you use a solid aftershave it won't matter.

For info on the bad blade head to that thread.

Next is the splash from @Dragonsbeard and I will admit I was worried it would be tacky or sticky. But it definitely was NOT. Even after only using it for the first time my face feels noticeably softer. This is good juice! No doubt in my mind about that. If you get the opportunity to buy a bottle DO IT!

My shave overall is a very nice DFS+ I didn't chase on the neck for the BBS today.

Homefront:
Nothing too wild to discuss as things have been going well. Busy but well. Basketball season is winding down and I am ready for that in all honesty. I am looking forward to just relaxing in the evening for a little bit. Wife and I have a sitter and are going out to dinner tonight. Have a good day Cadre.

I was a little worried about the same thing with the Dragonsbeard skin food. As heavy as the scent is, and how it feels in your hand right before you apply it, I was sure it would be tacky, but it's crazy good aftershave.

Dragonsbeard Soap and Skin Food is my favorite soap. I love how the skin food just absorbs within seconds. Now I have to find a cologne that pairs well with it!

Well here's an update.... During my interviewing process, apparently who my new boss would be forwarded the info on. In that process they liked the fact that I have literally built my current department from the ground up, for my current business unit. When I came into work on Monday I had 4 more meetings scheduled monday and tuesday, with higher ups. We are currently going through a big audit and they have decided to offer me a different role. I am being given the keys and being asked to build from the ground up again which means hiring a new team, building a new process, and basically starting over. I took some time the last couple of days to really weigh out the pros and cons. And have accepted the soft offer. We are now in the salary negotiation stage. Hoping to make everything official next week and let my current team know I am leaving. This is going to be very high profile and will require more travel to Chicago and Phoenix, and require me to learn 3 more lines of business as I will now be auditing and doing risk profiles on 4 lines of business. I am very nervous but feel that this is just going to be too good of an opportunity to pass up. They said if I don't want it I can have the other position if I want. But obviously this one could do wonders for my career. I am excited and nervous to move on and can't wait for this negotiation stage to be over. Sorry I have been even more MIA than normal this week but my week has been crazy. Hoping this is all ironed out early next week.

Oh yea been using the last of sample of Creed Aventus. So assuming this all goes well I think a full size bottle purchase will be in order for celebration.

Congrats Chad. That sounds like a great opportunity for you. You'll have earned the Aventus!
