Chad's adventures of shaving, officiating, and life

Well had a scare this morning. While eating breakfast our carbon monoxide sensors starting going off in the house. So we evacuated the house with the animals and called the fire department. After 90 min of investigation and standing outside with it being 18 degrees Fahrenheit we were allowed back inside and determined the system was faulty and we need to buy another one. That's one way to get you going in the morning

Well I just realized that this got pushed to the second page! Oh my!

Well I am still shaving about 6 days a week. I have pretty much adopted the 3017 lifestyle which I actually like. I finished my Ghost Town Barber yesterday and am now working on Soap Commander Serenity which is a nice scent described simply as Crackling Birch.

My shaves have actually been going pretty well all I change up is brush, aftershave, and razor/blade combo.

Life has just been very busy and work has been very demanding. I am also in the process of interviewing for two different positions at work, that would really change things for the better if I can land one of them. I am very hopeful that one of them will pan out.

Officiating has been going well, but like normal with just a few weeks remaining in the basketball HS regular season. I am ready for the off-season! I have been putting in a lot of work into football during the off-season as well. Lots of rule sessions online and lots of video review. I have also been asked to help set up a mentor program in the state of Utah to help partner newer officials with veteran officials.

Anyways hope you all are doing well and I will try to update here more regularly.

I think this is a good thing. I like having that stability day to day. It is one less decision that I have to make each day. Also, finally seeing that empty tub is a really good and fulfilling feeling.

This is the part where we are all different I guess and why I'm not a true 3017'r at heart. The bottom of the tub just means I need to order it again so no hurry to empty it.............

Well finally got a phone call from the hiring manager. Went like this:

HM: Morning Chad, just wanted to let you know that you did VERY well in the interviews. The HR recruiter is out sick and probably won't be back until Monday, sorry about that.
Me: Oh.... Ok... (strategic LONG pause)
HM: So read into that as you will but I hope you have a good weekend.
Me: So I should hear something on Monday?
HM: You know how HR can be be so I don't want to say anything definitive.

More back and forth but that's the important stuff. So.... I guess that's good.

Oh yea this is a shaving journal. I am still using the Soap Commander Serenity! Great birch scent and finally got the ring of death started on Monday's shave. So what 20+ more shaves right @Dave in KY

well you know how the Cadre is, so as much as we would like to congratulate you we don't want to say anything so definitive at this point... 😜

It sounds like you hang onto the "VERY well" because they wouldn't make that point to someone that didn't get it. But I know, until it's in writing it's hard to get excited about.

So true it could be a serious let down now. I almost wish he didn't call.
