Chad's adventures of shaving, officiating, and life

Great update man! Sounds like things are going really well, dodging layoffs aside.

Really awesome news about Connor! More brains = better taking care of dad later in life :ROFLMAO:

Okay okay yes I know. I have been WAY BEHIND on the journals. So here is an update for you.

As far as the shaving goes I started out the Oct theme from @dangerousdon using Razorock and it was so good I just kept using it until this happened this morning:

Yup I used it all up, and to be honest I was kind of enjoying it. It did make shaving a little mundane but with my new schedule it worked and has made things a little easier. I guess we will see if I stick to it. I was even using the same razor and blade for 6-7 shaves the only change each day was the brush. I am ready to get back to the bad blade series though, and am hoping to get to that here real soon. As I am adjusting to the new schedule.

So at home as I eluded to my work schedule has changed a bit, and the job description was re-written which has doubled the amount of employees I am responsible for. Which means I always seem to have someone in my office needing to talk about something. You know the typical stuff, Don put salmon in the microwave, Dave walking around without shoes on trying to show off his socks (please take care of that fungal issue!), Chris complaining that he's short, Ben talking about his nightlife with lights and loud sounds, and Sam sitting in the corner of the break room begging anyone and everyone to play chess in fact I think the fridge beat him yesterday, etc... you guys get the idea.

The referee schedule has been intense this season. I have been working some really good games and this weekend I will work the State Semifinal game! I am beyond excited about that. At my last game I was approached by the commissioner of referees from the big sky conference. And let's just say things are looking promising. On top of all that basketball season starts in 3 weeks. And I haven't even opened the new rule book. I did watch some college basketball yesterday though... and saw the new Referee NCAA uniform UGLY!!!

With Connor's school and trying to volunteer there and also devoting enough time to my beautiful daughter my free time is my family. What little there is. I have taken my wife to a few dinners when we get a sitter gotta remind your queen that she is special. I couldn't do half of what I do without her.

So while I will say it again that I plan to get caught up around here, the reality is I am trying, and I truly appreciate all of your friendship!

Pro tip: A closed door and a “conference call” sign will buy you a few hours of quiet.

You sure pack more into a day than most Chad.
I put a sign on the door that says I’m on the radio “live radio show in progress”. Then I don’t even get a knock. Hell I’m not even in the building most of the time. I don’t even have a radio show!
Guess it helps that I own the business and don’t have any employees...

big sky conference doesn’t sound very friendly Chad, sounds like a euphemism for dying, you should tell em I said so.

Don put salmon in the microwave...
Years ago, after one coworker did this very thing, another, very incensed coworker wanted to "...make a rule, NO FISH in the microwave!" She was quickly shouted down by the 40 or so nurses and techs in the break room. Who would have thought that eating healthy would totally tick some people off?

Good luck with the Big Sky Conference inquiry, Chad. It's nice to have hard work recognized. (y)

Why do I have to be the guy putting salmon in the microwave (and for the record...I drain my cans of sardines in the breakroom, through the cans away in the breakroom, and then eat my lunch in my office)...I mean I like showing off socks also...and sharing toe fungus!

This is awesome news! Now I have to figure out how to watch Big Sky games on TV (believe it or not through my Hulu subscription...I have watched a couple Big Sky games). I am assuming this would be for football? Or are they interested in you for basketball too? Big Sky in basketball is a pretty solid conference. They have a crap load of players in the NBA currently and used to have a crap load more.

I put up a quarantine sign once and closed the door. People assumed I was sick and left me alone!

I always liked going down to the gopher town and doing a microwave popcorn In their oven. the heads would pop up like whack a mole!

This is strictly for football. I am much better football official than basketball official. I do basketball because I can work games year round and it keeps me in shape.... who am I kidding it allows me to eat donuts and not risk it ruining me for football shape LOL.

The Big Sky is definitely respectable in basketball, but they are starting to play pretty decent football too for a smaller conference. It will probably still be about 2 years until I get on a college field but this is the first step, and now that I have a conference showing interest, they will help with the burden of camps and travel etc.

I would say that would be cause for concern in the workplace...

Moving on to other matters, I see that the my Bruins are 3 TD dogs to the Utes on Saturday. What say you?

While I have nothing against the Bruins perse this year is special for the Utes. I have the Utes by two scores.

Looking at this journal page...one must assume that Chad hasn’t shaved since early November. Must just now be getting a 6 o’clock shadow...
