Big storm rolling in tonight into tomorrow that could delay me in getting a video up tomorrow. All depends on how much snow I have to clear before heading into church in the morning.

Shave ready snow shovel? Sounds like a bad blade to me!

Volume 18 Rockwell Use 1

Well today I used the Rockwell white wrapper blade. The shave went alright. I had a some minor tugging in the beginning but it seemed to mellow out and actually provided a pretty good shave. So let's go over what I know about this blade.

They are a proprietary blade made in China with Swedish Stainless Steel. They claim that each blade will yield 5-8 full shaves. Reviews have that number closer to 3.

The price is at $12 for 100 blades so 12 cents per blade not horrible honestly.

So as I mentioned this blade is the white wrapper blade. There are also black wrapper version that is no longer produced. This was in the beginning of Rockwell. I do have some of these blades too but not planning on using these blades in this series since you can't get them anymore. The black packaging received such horrible reviews that Rockwell listened and went back to the manufacturer they are using and changed specifications and released the White label which is better received. But still has reviews all over the place. I also found a guy who measures sharpness and he actually states that this received the lowest rating he measured. So not sharp at all. That was my opinion. Not that sharp of a blade but pretty smooth.

The real kicker when reading reviews like on Amazon etc is that they include the reviews of the black wrapper mixed with the white wrapper.

I am torn on this blade right now and not sure what to fully think. But strictly looking at the blade I am leaning towards a good rating with some caveats.

Here is the initial video.

Time to go clear snow.

I was looking forward to this review as I have a couple of Rockwell blades I haven't used yet. Just double checked though, and they’re the black wrapper ?

Volume 19 Rockwell Use 2

Alright well today was use two on the Rockwell razor. The shave was smoother today than it was yesterday, the razor seemed to mellow a bit, making it more keen, but it is still just not that sharp. The overall feeling on this blade is a lot to be desired. However I was able to get two good shaves off the blade, but I don't believe their claim that you can get 5-8 shaves out of each blade, and that also leads me to the claim that a 100 pack is 2 years straight of shaves. This company makes some pretty bold claims in the marketing of their products and honestly I just don't think it lives up to the hype.

So because I can get a good shave from this blade, this is the definition of the bad category. I won't buy these, and I have no desire to use them again. However there are going to be people out there who like these blades and probably get consistent shaves. But I highly doubt it would last a daily shaver 2 years. Oh well here is the updated items

****RATING SYSTEM****
TRASH: Can't get a good shave. This blade is horrible. Never use again.
BAD: A bad blade but technically still got a serviceable shave, but have no desire to use the blade again.
GOOD: It was good enough that if I have another blade I wouldn't hesitate to use it.
100PACK: This blade was good enough to warrant stocking up!

Any votes for what is next?

Would it be possible to rank the Trash category as the 100 Blades are? Just so we know the worst of the worst? Or is that over analyzing?

\n\nI am not opposed to it if that is what the mass public want. But as of right now only have one in that category. If/when more get added we can see if it would be worthwhile.
