Chad Uses BAD blades!

Honestly though, the whole “bad” blades thing has kind of backfired. So far Chad has had more good winners than losers hasn’t he?
I aim to fix that. Besides, he is just getting started. There are plenty of "bad blades" out there. Some will be hidden gems. Some will be stinkers.

Volume 23 Bic Use 1

So up today is the Bic Chrome Platinum blade. This was an interesting blade from a research perspective. They are all over the board.

First what I know about the blade. They are made in Greece, and claim to be a polymeric chrome, platinum, teflon coated blade; that is triple honed.

Reviews are all over like I mentioned some say they are as sharp as feathers but lack smoothness, others say they aren't sharp, and others just say they are average.

As far as pricing goes:

Amazon: $16.75
WCS: $19.75
Maggard: $19.75
IB: $19.99

So actually a little on the higher side to be honest.

So the shave, I felt some slight tugging, and it definitely didn't feel overly sharp. I also got a nic. It just didn't get me as close as I would expect a brand new blade to do. I am definitely DFS even on the cheeks which are the easiest for me to be BBS. I will do the second shave tomorrow but it's not looking promising for this blade.

Here's the video, ignore my wild shower hair LOL

Excting day for your Boy.... Dad going to visit at school.
Just curious of your thoughts on the soap.. I know Striling has amazing reputation but do you feel it's performance contributed to the bad experience? Or is the blade just that Meh?

Was it my system or did they sound link go out at the 8:02 mark?

\n\nStirling always performs real well at my house. I own a LOT of Stirling Soaps. I really don\'t think it was the soap. Tomorrow it is being used with a CBL soap which is slicker than Stirling. But I am leaning towards it\'s the blade.\n\nI didn\'t notice any sound issues.

\n\nThe sound track always separates from the video when I watch Chad\'s videos. But I\'m normally just listening to them anyway, so it doesn\'t bother me.

See, I never said anything thinking it was me. It's always like a bad lip sync'd Japanese movie. Drives me nuts when I'm watching it.

I thought I had it fixed a couple months back. It doesn't do it when I watch it which is weird. I'm going to try a different editing program

Can't say I've noticed a sync issue but I am normally doing something while I have the video on so may be missing it.

Volume 24 Bic Use 2

Well first of all. Thanks guys! Letting me put up videos that are way below the minimum standard. I downloaded some different software and am trying this out. I hope it works better. Please let me know. I haven't figured everything out so the beginning is a tad bit different currently but hopefully it will get better.

Alright so now onto the blade. I know CBL mentioned elsewhere that he likes these blades. Geez that guy really is weird LOL. This shave was another tuggy and nic ridden shave. Plus irritation on my neck that reminds me of carts. HOWEVER still not as bad as that dreaded Graham Field blade. So as is the norm in our hobby. YMMV.

It brought me back to reviews I read, that a lot of people complained about inconsistency especially in their 100 packs that they purchased. Hmmm, the blade is sharp, I am removing hair, but it is just so rough on the skin it lacks what I can only describe as keenness I hope that makes sense. Here watch for yourself.

Alright so now I am left trying to figure out where to put this blade. To be honest I struggled between Bad and Trash. However when all things considered; 2 bad shaves, pin pricks, irritation, inconsistency complaints, cost, and overall feel. I am left with putting this blade in the trash category. Here is the updated info:

****RATING SYSTEM****
TRASH: Can't get a good shave. This blade is horrible. Never use again.
BAD: A bad blade but technically still got a serviceable shave, but have no desire to use the blade again.
GOOD: It was good enough that if I have another blade I wouldn't hesitate to use it.
100PACK: This blade was good enough to warrant stocking up!
