Chad Uses BAD blades!

Ah.... good point. I have read really good things about the Parker blades. I think KJ asked for the Rockwell. So I will do the Parker blade.

There a quite a few on the list I’d like to see reviewed. I’ve used a Parker blade so it’ll be interesting to see your take on it. Also looking forward to the Rapiras.

Volume 20 Parker use 1

Well not going to lie I have pretty high expectations for this blade after reading reviews. This blade is VERY new to the market and we don't get that often in our market. From my research this is 100% brand new, Parker Razors wanted to make a blade and brand it, but they wanted it to meet there specification. These blades hit the market this year in March or April of 2018 I couldn't find a definitive release date.

This blade is made in Turkey using German engineering and machinery, and it uses Swedish Stainless steel that is supposed to be the best of the best which is called Premier Sandvik (Yes I called it Sandrik in the video) if you read up on this steel it is supposed to wear slowly, and is predominantly used in knife making. The blade does have a polymer coating that is Chromium-ceramic-platinum-tungsten. Whoa that is a lot!

So the shave, it started out real smooth, and when I got down to the neck I felt the blade, but not in a wow this is sharp type of way, but rather just a smooth swiping motion, however not as smooth as other blades, but definitely sharper, but not as sharp as say a Feather blade for example.

So cost for this balde, it is not listed at WCS or Italian Barber. Maggard's sells 100 for $12.95. There are some of other sites that are in the range of $12 to $15 also. Amazon however lists the blade at $10.69 per 100. Keep an eye out though it appears periodically Parker offers discount codes on Amazon to get the price near $9, this could have been for launch but it appears to have happened a couple of times.

Now I am left looking at Rockwell and there Swedish steel blade and then Parker and there's. In my opinion so far it is a case of one company doing it right and another trying to just say "Swedish Steel" and sell more blades because of it.

Initially after one use I think this blade will be Good or 100 pack rating.

Here is the video where I went into a little more detail.

Volume 21 Parker Use 2

Well use two of this blade, and it was VERY comfortable. This blade really impressed me on the second shave. It seemed to smooth out even more, and just provided a very good shave.

Tomorrow I will load this Parker blade in the Parker Variant and run it through the paces.

Not much to really report between these two shaves aside from it smoothed out and got better. Also provided another BBS shave.

Volume 22 Parker Use 3

Well the time has come. The Parker Premium Blade has was loaded into my Parker Variant and was dialed all the way up to the highest setting.

There isn't really much to say that hasn't already been said. But this blade is an excellent blade. These blades are new on the market and don't belong in a bad blade review. I think it is better classified as unknown. I will definitely be buying a 100 pack of these blades and adding them to my stash. These are excellent. Super smooth, plenty sharp, and allows for advanced techniques when shaving. I was able to do reverse J-hooking and blade buffing. Both with soap and in areas without soap just relying on the residual slickness of the soap I used. The price of these blades at just a little over $10 makes it even better! Give these a try.

Here's the video:

And updated info:

****RATING SYSTEM****
TRASH: Can't get a good shave. This blade is horrible. Never use again.
BAD: A bad blade but technically still got a serviceable shave, but have no desire to use the blade again.
GOOD: It was good enough that if I have another blade I wouldn't hesitate to use it.
100PACK: This blade was good enough to warrant stocking up!

I am expecting the delivery of the G
eneral Razor in the pass around today, so I will be taking a few shaves off from this series as I put that razor through the paces.

For the record, I totally agree with the 100Pack rating for the Parker blade. I think they rank up there with GSB, Astra SP, and Voskhod.

When Chad mentioned doing this review series someone else mentioned adding them to the review. I own the blade in bulk, so I sent Chad a tuck. My expectation for the review has met with reality. I expected that it would get a great rating. It is just too new for many people to have experience with it, but it is really, really good.

Also, my offer stands. Anyone who wants to try the Parker blade just has to PM me their mailing address and I will PIF them a tuck. (I have multiple 100packs of these, so I won't be running out any time soon.)

Cadre the series will resume on Wednesday with the Bic Chrome Platinum Blade.

There is a "care package" in the mail for Chad. It should arrive on Friday. I found a couple of interesting things on eBay as well as a few choice things at TryABlade.
Also, there are a few more things from my blade stash. I also included something... special... to help you in your bad blade review.
I wonder how much of it will be pain and suffering and how much will be good shaves.

Things just got interesting lol!

I only sent him like... 30... or so different blades. Most of which I have never tried and weren't on his list already. They can't all be bad, can they?
Did you strop them on your driveway like I suggested?

LOL. But the Engineer in me wouldn't allow me to alter the parameters of the experiment.

Let's just sit back and enjoy while Chad uses the weird stuff. One of the blades that I sent him is from Bangladesh.
