CBLindsay's brain droppings

I may have mentioned this before so stop me if you heard this before. I have an aversion to coco butter, i think it smells nasty and feels worse. Why? i think it has to do with my time spent in the medical field. There were a couple of old ladies that would show up fairly regularly for testing and such, they were slathered in cocoa butter. These ladies were a bit on the jaba the hut side of the scale and traveled via scooter AND they had a personal "nurse". The young personal "nurse" once made it a point to tell me (or someone in my close proximity) how he regularly applied cocoa butter to Mrs so and so. The way he described it left me with a horrible vision and made me feel like i needed a long shower. THEN, I reached out to take Mrs so and so's arm so I could draw some blood from her. When I grabbed her arm with my gloved hands (I have an aversion to the feel of human flesh too) I found it almost impossible to keep hold of her she was so slick. What started as a horrible image in my mind got worse. I seriously could not keep hold of her arm, between her being slathered in cocoa butter and her being very "squishy" it was not possible. Now, the smell takes me back to that time and leaves me a little uneasy.

When you say "body butter" I immediately see Mrs Jaba the hut being slathered in cocoa butter by that strange personal nurse.

Well, there’s the first story I would have been okay with Chris just keeping to himself.

Yeah, but now whoever has Chris in the exchange knows what to get him..... A Jabba the Hut Body Butter dispenser!

straight Shave #885

Today I used my little FL&C which had been freshly honed on my new vintage Carboridium ( posted about the Carboridium in the hones thread). The soap was one of my CBL soaps scented in my soon to be released Green Vetiver. The more I use the CBL Soap the more I love it. I suppose using ANY good soap exclusively for long periods will lead to a better and better understanding of its abilities.

My skin issues are improving enough that I have had some very good shaves. Earlier this week I buried the toe of one of my spikes into my left lower jawline. I really need to learn to STOP when I feel resistance or i’ll Pay dearly one day.

I am enjoying the many journals and Vlogs even when i’m Not present in my own journal. Keep em comming.

Great update Chris! Glad you enjoy your own soaps, lol!

Good to hear the skin is healing up, even despite the Murphy visit.

Chris...stop digging your razor into your skin! It's not healthy! And you are right...your CBL is soap is top notch!

Nice stuff Chris. Sorry about the toe dig. You should use the CBL soap more.....he really is a good artisan

I hear he’s an unsafe shaver though. He really needs to step up his anti-Murphy game if he wants to stay in business for a while!

Straight Shave #889

Didn't do a straight razor shave today but I did use the General with a feather proguard. I tell you what, when theses things start to fade you feel it. I needed to get up and out early today so I reached for the old rubberset, a tub of Henri Et Victoria cognac and cubans and the general. I was surprised at how quickly the lather built and how well the shave really went. I do prefer their tallow version of soap but don't sell this one short. I sprayed on some Penhaligon's and STILL smelled the scent from the soap several hours later...nice.

The wife is sicker than a dog, been down with the flu since Monday night. She was pretty bad yesterday but says she's a touch better right now. Now I'm worried I'll get something. I usually don't get sick each year, I go several years with no big problems but when I got sick last year and was chucking blue stuff I kind thought I might die. Fingers crossed.

Today was our annual "access government day" for the non-profit I work with. We had a good attendance and the 2 assembly persons (one man, one woman) did a good job of delivering a message crafted to the audience AND were helpful in establishing ways for our local non-profits to contact them, work with them and get help from them. I know the Assemblyman very well but the Assemblywoman was one I do not know. It is rare I am sure that you have a good relationship with your elected reps but I am lucky to know my state assemblyman and my Senator well enough that I can call their cell phone and they answer. I've had a similar relationship last assemblymen but I have to admit I am not proud of him, nice guy that was quickly consumed by power.

Sorry to hear about the missus Chris...and hope she recovers before you get sick as well.

And cognac and Cubans sounds like a wonderful scent!

Sorry to hear that your wife is sick, but you saying that reminded me that I need to go get my flu shot, and I'm going to go do that after work, or in about 15 minutes. Thanks!

And I do hope she feels better soon and that you don't catch anything.

we discussed her getting the shot at least 3 weeks ago, around the time NurseDave said it served no purpose waiting until later. Oh well
