CBLindsay's brain droppings

Very very nice reading Chris. SWMBO asked me tonight if I still have any CBL soap she can wash her face with? I laughed and said there are a few tiny bits left but the majority I had has been mostly depleted. That unscented preshave is I believe the best preshave I’ve ever used sir.

Ah yes, the sacred Verizon PIN! I was in Verizon a few days ago, buying my new iPhone. Luckily, I knew my pin, but two other folks came in and did not. Could not help them with their account without the PIN. They could provide every piece of personal information, SSN, birthday, mother’s maiden name, celestial sign, etc..... but without that PIN they were dead in th water. Kinda ridiculous really.

Straight Shave 872

TSC Legacy synthetic
Lisa's Cedar & Saffron
La Dutches Frameback
D.R. Harris Sandalwood
Ardin Sandalwood (vintage)

Still putting my room back together so I don't have all my soaps within easy reach ...but I had Lisa's Cedar & Saffron close. I was able to get the majority of my straight razor collection stashed away in the little drawer on the top of my new chest of drawers. Of course my wife noticed how full the 15x36" drawer was (it was FULL) became and commented about my need to sell some. Why?

The TSC brush is just plain awesome! The handle is perfectly shaped for my hand and wonderfully balanced. The fan knot has a bunch of back bone but when sqaushed to the face and filled with lather it feels like the springyness fades. It is a perfect combination. I loaded the bloomed soap and had a wonderful lather very quickly, better yet, the lather got better with every rinse.

The shave was uneventful and dealt a BBS as good as any I have ever had. I did record this one too but need to do some post production if I plan to put it in the VLOG section.

Dang, you let SWMBO see a full drawer?! That’s got to break a man code shave rule somewhere!

Glad you’re enjoying the TSC brush!

Can't really go wrong with Lisa's soaps. Have to agree with Chris...you let her see "the stash"....party foul!

I have to agree...those things need to be under lock and key. And by the way...it isn't for your benefit...it's for ours. If our wives find out that your wife wants you to sell some stuff...how do you think our wives are going to react?

Straight Shave #873

Stirling Boar
Williams Mug soap
Feather SS with NEW feather pro-guard.
Zoologist "beaver"

Had an early morning appointment to get the windshield replaced in the beast but had plenty of time for a good shave. I was out late last night AND spent some time chatting with Dave and Chad about our upcoming radio broadcast ...so no time for an evening lather or to pick the gear. This morning I just grabbed the first things within reach. The Williams had been drying so it could be re-boxed and put back in storage so it was right there, the feather is an obvious go to for days like this.

Guy's, don't be afraid of Williams. It is a wonderful soap for the job, it has every ESSENTIAL component covered. Sure, it smells like ...soap, and it doesn't add much in the post shave but it works where it matters. I'm telling you, I soaked the puck and brush while I showered, dumped the water and let the brush drip a second or two then started loading. I loaded as if I was going to load and lather right there in the cup, looking for the formation of a bit of "lather" before starting in on the face lathering. I had a near instant lather that got nice and dense as I continued. If you have every watch K.J's williams lathering videos you know the drill, you also know how important it is to make a bunch of slappy happy paint brush strokes.

The true test is the shave, the feather is a powerful tool, forgiving to a point but it requires all parts to be working in unison. And work they did. 3 simple passes and a single swipe clean-up on my left side lower neck as always and I had a BBS.

The Witchhazel blend I use is pretty much an aftershave (witch hazel, alcohol, glycerin, castor oil, MENTHOL and a little fragrance) this batch is a fragrant blend of dryersheet and Florida Water...mmm. I didn't want to take on the day smelling like a Florida Witch Doctors laundry so I sprayed on a little Zoologist BEAVER. If you are scared of the big bold animal scents Zoologist is known for, Beaver might be for you. It is unique without being overly creative or bold. Since It is HOT here I was worried about how intense the scent might get but it is working.

I forgot to post the SOTD photo I prepared for yesterday's shave so I'l put it here.

And here’s the beast getting the glass replaced

Nice one Chris...I'm sure Williams is a good soap once it's figured out. I know it's slick as snot, but I just can't get a stable lather out of it. Glad the beast is getting fixed up!

Florida water is no joke, it WILL give you the strangest dreams if you apply it at night OR leave a puddle of it on a plate next to your bed. It's true voodoo i tell ya. But it smells nice.

One of these days I will take a picture of my DE collection... But I think your straight collection puts it to shame.

Also, nice shave and pic today.

I love Florida Water. I have a back stock of 8 glass bottles of it.
