2019 Shave # 10

Razor: Rockwell 6s Plate 5
Blade: Pol Silver SI (1)

Brush: Burma Shave Boar

Soap: CFG Ghost Town Barber (3017 Shave 9)

Aftershave 1: Nivea 2 in 1 Aftershave
Aftershave 2: Stetson

Morning shave with...........you guessed it, GTB. Loaded with my 1st ever brush a boar hoping to keep the needle moving at a good clip. And it did go to 4.2 oz or 120 grams and this leads me to my decision to not continue the 3017. My reason is, if my only intent was to get to know the soap better and dial it in that has been done for awhile. I'm not going to get any better shaves from it than I am now. The longer I'm in the 3017 the more I miss and crave the variety that I enjoy in this hobby and is just sitting there and staring at me on the shelf. So what do I lean towards doing and get encouraged to do ? Load it like you hate it to burn thru it quickly.......it's not my goal to waste soap just to get thru it quicker so I can say I did a 3017. I could do that but it wasn't my intent when joining. So, sorry to the others that may continue for the reasons they have which may have been a different goal than mine. Tomorrow it will be back to a choice of the many samples and new to me tubs that haven't been touched yet. I will scoop my partial tub that is cracked into this tub of GTB to continue to use when I want the scent etc that it offers. Used a gifted to me by a friend, Super Adjustable to swipe off the lather that still has chips of soap in it so something was wonky with this batch of soap. Still in the "S" thing for the long haul. Looking forward to tomorrows shave......................hey, that's what we do this for right ? Actually looking forward to the shave, rather than just trying to get thru it again. Back to enjoyment tomorrow. Have an awesome day Cadre and Congrats to KJ for the Bingo win and Doug for the Mega Pif win!!

No worries, there is no shame in your game! I won’t load it like I hate it. I intend to just shave as normal and see how far I get.

Okay all caught up.

Two things.

1. There is breakfast whiskey???? Why didn't I know about this? It's like the first time I had pancakes for dinner!

2. can't blame ya for stopping the 3017. I plan to see it through.

2019 Shave # 11

Razor: Asylum Rx / Rockwell 6s Plate 5
Blade: Kai Pink (2)

Brush: Stirling 24 mm Badger

Soap: Dr. Jon's Savannah Sunrise

Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholao Maravilla
Aftershave 2: Terre D' Hermes

Aaahhhhhhhhhh, sweet freedom and relief. Lathering the subtle orange scent with other things playing with it was like a breath of fresh air and the lather was great. Was awesome..................until I reopened the last nick near my ear from last visit with the Rx.................then opened a pimple on my chin. After 2 passes I changed to the 6s for pass 3.Alum used with Humphrey's and AS. After cleaning up the Rx was cleaned and prepped for a BST. I have gotten good shaves with it but not greatly efficient ones as some seem to get and the extra aggressiveness leaves me thinking a Vector is the match for me. Working a longer day today so I can have tomorrow off and go to the hospital to visit a member of the Cong that without getting into detail is having a time of it. Have a great day Cadre !!
