2019 Shave # 6

Razor: Rockwell 6s Plate 5
Blade: Pol Silver SI (3)

Brush: Paladin 26 mm Honey Noir Beehive LE

Soap: CFG Ghost Town Barber (3017 Shave 5)

Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla
Aftershave 2: CFG Ghost Town Barber

Well yesterdays shave was so good with the GTB, I decided to try it again. Mmmmmmmm, and it was time to introduce the new Beehive Brush to the scent. Whipped up a nice lather that gave a very nice shave again. I'll probably go with this soap again tomorrow. I've over the years learned to add more water then I did when first traveling down this shaving road and it yields a nice lather from CFG soaps. Not elite but very good. I think in the early days I had a more thick and sometimes pasty lather. Learning to get the right consistency, consistently gets a much better shave. Was awesome to see a fellow "S" buddy get the HUGE Pif from Josh(Josh that one will go down in shaving history for sure) and so a BIG CONGRATS to Doug ! Hope everyone in the Cadre has a stellar wrap up to the weekend today !!!

I like the pump action tub of GTB you have. But I’m not sure it’ll catch on.

Sounds like a great shave! I don’t have the pump bottle GTB, but I’ll give the puck a try tomorrow.

2019 Shave # 7

Razor: Rockwell 6s Plate 5
Blade: Pol Silver SI (4)

Brush: RV 28 mm* Custom Badger

Soap: CFG Ghost Town Barber (3017 Shave 6)

Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla
Aftershave 2: Bootleggers Arctic Lime

Been up for a little bit and had some coffee while catching up on the forum. Then went to get my shave on and opted for the GTB from Chiseled Face Groomatorium. Don't know why but just felt like I should. Whipped up a nice lather with the Custom RV I acquired from Tom. *He had this listed as a 26 mm but every time I see it I think, NO WAY, this thing is a monster. Pulled the digital calipers to measure and yep 28 mm but a big blooming 28 mm. Compare the pics to the 26 mm Paladin Beehive and tell me what you think. It is HUGE and fun to use. I notice with this tub I get chunks of soap in the lather on my face after loading from the tub. Doesn't effect the shave but the consistency of the soap seems different. I still get a nice slick lather and good shave but seems odd. May try to get a pic tomorrow if I get the same thing when using a synthetic brush. Getting bored not having variety doing this 3017 (tub weight at 4.5 ounces after the shave) but trying to stay the course I changed up the only other thing I can and went with Bootleggers Arctic Lime since we are going to the 60's again today. Heading to Knoxville, TN for my route down there. Hope all i the Cadre have a stupendous day !!

Did you start a new tub of GTB for the 3017? I had the same issue—chunks of soap breaking off while loading—when I started my new puck. Seemed to settle down after 7 or so shaves.

Good luck staying the course!

Yep, John. Set the used one aside and started a new one. Little less this time if I remember correctly. Thanks for confirming and good to know it'll pass...... hopefully

Yep, you can see the difference even in just the base of the know. Sup with that?
