Razor: Rockwell 6s Plate 5

Blade: Gillette Rubie (5)

Brush: Rubberset 400 Maggards Synthetic Knot

Soap: Declaration Grooming Bon Vivant

Aftershave 1: Thayers Cucumber

Aftershave 2: KJ's Scope, I mean Bootleggers Bay Rum (Sent to me by KJ)

Chris said to get to shaving and I had no fair argument so did so. Oh it was heaven having counter space after I forget how long !! I forgot how slick this soap is and love the scent. Quick shave which yielded a great smooth face. All passes with a single rinse at the end for the razor. A KJ tribute shave. After the Thayers I topped it off with Bootleggers Bay Rum mix from KJ. It's definitely a Bay Rum but something smelled a little different to me. Not sure what ?? Not bad, just different (maybe it was the scope ?) Early to bed for an early wakening but a short day, as I have a follow-up Doc appointment. Have a stellar evening Cadre !!

I think Bootleggers Bay Rum (correct me if I'm wrong KJ)
That’s correct

(maybe it was the scope

Hey, you sent me the scope bottle in the first place.... I was just returning it!

That lather is running down your razor. That's not how KJ does it!
lol!

We created Bon Vivant as tribute to Jerry “The Professor” Thomas inspired by a whiskey drink with chartreuse and orange bitters. The scent itself is spicy and warm with a twist of citrus on the top. It is completely unlike any other scent creation that we have made thus far, and we are very proud to release such a sharp divergence from our scent lineup.

The notes include caramel, birch tar, black pepper, maple syrup, vanilla, patchouli, neroli, petitgrain, yuzu citrus, ginger, anise, juniper berry, white grapefruit, wormwood and coriander.

Nothing stands out specifically to me and as you can see, it is quite a list of notes. Spicy, warm and twist of citrus describes it well but I can't isolate anything specific.

Razor: Rockwell 6s Plate 5

Blade: Gillette Rubie (6)

Brush: Sorrentino Hybrid w/Synthetic 1/4 Moon

Soap: Vintage Williams Tonsorial

Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla

Aftershave 2: Speick

Left house for work about 3 am and back by 7 for a short day. Back to the Vintage Williams today. The Sorrentino whipped a nice lather out of it without even blooming it. I only bloomed it last time to hydrate it as it was dry and flaking. Apparently it is now revived and ready to do it's job effortlessly. Nice 3 pass shave topped off with Humphrey's and Speick. Ready to take on the world............................well not everybody at once but you get the idea. After a couple Doc appointments I'm going to try and scout out some shelves or something to put in the cabinet base to organize ................more products. Have a well day Cadre !!

Razor: Rockwell 6s Plate 5

Blade: Gillette Rubie (7)

Brush: Sorrentino Custom w/Cashmere Knot

Soap: CBL Soap Harvest Oud

Aftershave 1: Thayers Cucumber

Aftershave 2: Pinaud Reserve Whiskey Woods

A chance to try Harvest Oud from CBL Soaps in sample form. This has a Chocolaty and Nutty scent that to me just evokes a perfect fall and cool weather soap. Typical top notch performance expected from CBL Premium Soaps was definitely there. Bottom line is I am sooooo glad this is in my next upcoming order. Topped it off with some cucumber Thayers and Whiskey Woods which is definitely my favorite out of the recent Reserve trio lineup. Using my Sorrentino just reminded me how much I LOVE this brush and the Cashmere knot. May need another cashmere from Eric when I reload from recent purchases. Have a splendid day and weekend Cadre !!

Very nice shave today! I saw the harvest Oud at the CBL site and was VERY interested. Seems like a perfect fall lather! I'm thinking of getting another brush soon and I might have a cashmere knot put in it. Nice to see that you like yours so much!

Thanks Don. The scent is a definite winner for me and this was my 1st cashmere and certainly not my last. Although I really don't need more brushes, I have trouble not getting another Paladin or Eric Custom...................the pull is VERY hard !

That Harvest Oud sounds like a winner - very interesting. And I may have to check out a Cashmere fan - I've got it in bulb, and it's awesome.
