Razor: Rockwell 6c Plate 5

Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (2)

Brush: Razorock 400 w/Synthetic Noir

Soap: Captains Choice Cream Venture
Aftershave 1: Thayers Cucumber

Aftershave 2: Captains Choice Venture

Well after less then 24 hrs since last shave I was still feeling the effects of yesterdays shave and wanted redemption. Needed to break in the new CC Bowl and so left off the theme shaves except for the brush. Not much of a cream guy but wanted to try the venture and that's what came as a sample to match. I like this scent. Never big into colognes so don't know what this clones if anything but it is nice and can see buying the soap and splash down the road. Feel much better after the shave and redemption has been claimed. After a 3 pass shave I had enough lather left from half the sample to do another 4 passes probably. Have a great day Cadre and a better evening !!

Venture is a Creed Aventus clone.

how’d you like the bowl? Which version is it?

How does the 6c compare to the 6s?
Some say it can be more aggressive by a plate difference. I don't see this myself. The head is zamak instead of stainless thus making it a little lighter I would assume. Never had them at the same time as I got it to have while mine floated around ?

I got the rolled lip as I felt it would be sturdier even tho I like the look of the flared. I think I was right because they had issues in the prototype cracking or something on the flared lip and so had to make the flared lip much heavier gauge and is why it is more pricey. That said the weight on the rolled is substantial enough and I don't think I'd want or need heavier.

I read that the flared was thicker, but I didn’t know why. Both appeal to me. I initially voted for the rolled edge, but seeing the thick flare, I like the look of that too. That said, being a face latherer, I probably won’t buy either. I have 3 CC bowls and rarely use any of them.

Yeah I just had the one CC bowl and one from turkey which works but may pif it now. This was an upgrade. 2 is good for me for samples as I almost always face lather too.

Very nice redemption shave Dave! Pics are looking great too. You are upping your photo game.

Nice shave to redeem the one from yesterday. Thanks for the info on the 6c I am considering one of those instead is the 6s. Unless I can find a razor with the same or similar weight that is a plate 5-6

I may put mine in BST after the 6s gets back. Thought of keeping for a travel razor but I usually just take whatever I want with me anyway.

PS - I can send the 6c to you after you send the 6s back if you want to compare before deciding anything ??

Razor: Timeless .68 Open Comb

Blade: PolSilver SI (7)

Brush: Paladin 26mm Harlequin Chief

Soap: Tabac
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla

Aftershave 2: Florida Water

So barely over 12 hours since last shave but needed to be clean shaven for this morning. Another Tabac shave. The scent is fine with me and lather is good. Just a good all around basic soap to me. Nothing stands out as astounding but solid performer that many love. Although it seems drying to me, post face eel is nice which seems a contradiction but that's how it seems to me. Topped off a nice smooth irritation free shave with Humphreys and Florida Water. Hope all in the Cadre have a stupendous weekend !!

Catching up, Dave - great stuff. And I'm with you on the vintage OC razors - I'll take a modern one too.

Do you realize if your skin is fine shaving 12 hrs apart, you can shave twice a day!?!!

Razor 1: Feather SS w/Feather Pro Blade
Razor 2: Timeless .68 Open Comb

Blade: PolSilver SI (8)

Brush: Razorock 400 Noir Synthetic
Soap: Razorock WTP Orange

Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla

Aftershave 2: Pinaud Whiskey Woods

So took the 1st pass with the SS and no drama. 1 small dot of red from a pimple being clipped ?? Thought okay pass 2 with the SS. 1 cheek done and it seemed to be dragging. I was thinking in my head don't push/rush the experience. Be satisfied ith 1 pass shaves with it for now. Switched to the Timeless and wrapped things up. Maybe this soap isn't the best one to push the SS with. The Whiskey Woods was a nice scent without being over powering. It's the one I leaned to when they came out with this lineup of 3 new scents. Was glad to get a deal on all 3 together and will try the others soon as well. Got me to thinking a nice bourbon scented soap would be nice from Chris. Don't know what other things to pair with it to round it out but just a thought I'll mull over. About this brush. I have a Rubberset 400 with a synthetic knot and like the handles so got this when they first came out. Didn't like it at all when I 1st received it as it seemed to stiff and so didn't use it much. After the last 2 uses it seems to be loosening up enough that I'm enjoying it more. Glad I didn't get rid of it before giving it some time. I don't know if the backbone actually died down some or I just have subconsciously learned how to adapt but at least I'm enjoying enough to keep it and use it in rotation.

After services we finish packing and head to set up camp for thru Friday if weather cooperates so I don't know what the signal situation will be where we will be. Try not to enjoy the lack of Dave too much in my absence ??
Hope all in the Cadre are enjoying the weekend !!

Good call to finish with the Timeless. No sense trying get a great shave out of something you haven't mastered yet. Learn it and enjoy the ride along the way. Hope the weather holds up for you! And don't worry...we won't enjoy absence all that much...

Great photo, Dave. That might be one of the sharpest focused shots I've seen of yours.

Hope the camping is safe and enjoyable.
