Blackland SE..... The Vector

I’m searching for a deal on a modern GEM razor but they are hard to come by at a price point I’m willing to remove from my wallet

I have tried a few Modern Gems but none have held a candle to the vintage ones which can be had cheaply.

That is good info! I may stop my search now

At the time when everyone and their brother were coming out with modern Gem blade razors, I immediately jumped on the Blackland Sabre. It was definitely a great shaver and very smooth, however at $190, it still could not beat out my 1914 and Rapide as far as shaves went and so I returned it and never looked at any new Gem blade razor again. The only modern Gem blade razor I currently own is the OneBlade which is not really one, but I have used Gem blades in them ever since I got my first one.

Blackland has a presentation page up on their website with a nice story and the idea behind the creation of the Vector razor. That thing is just calling to me. I’m doomed. I can feel it.......

Gus, you can resist a new razor like a fat kid can resist cake.

A great shave. Schick Proline and the Vector were meant to be. 1st shave in but, I’m impressed with the mild feel on the face with excellent efficiency. Nice, neutral balance that feels great in the hands. I believe the handle is just about perfect in length and grip with a good balance. Not much blade reveal but, it cuts deceptively good. More shaves to follow with my Feathers & Kai’s. Good start. Correction, great start.....

That's a lot of gap and blade reveal. Looking forward to your review.

The pics make it seem like there is a lot more than what there is. Believe me, it’s really nice and smooth on the face. Not intimidating at all Dave.....

Pretty!! Gus, How nimble is the head?

Pretty maneuverable to be quite honest. I don’t shave the stache area but, I got into the corners of my mouth with ease and I was able to clean up my Adam’s Apple area pretty nicely. It’s awesome for lining up the sideburns or “runways” as they say. It’s still early and I like to get 6-10 shaves in to really get a handle and feel for a razor. But, from the first impression, this razor has me hooked.....
