Bingo Game #39 - The T.M.I. Trivia Edition

@Spider could have just left the number in case he was right before he went to work.

I thought about it. But that could have backfired on me. If someone else needs that one as well, they might pick a different one, because they know that would help me.

Well, there ya have it, friends....day 12 is in the books. All 5 numbers are out there.

Well, monkeys flying out of my butt and me winning today are both equally likely, as well as technically possible. Let's get this over this.

Cruise baby - because nothing is better than winning a cruise while on a cruise….plus the irony of Mr. Heysi winning at Bingo is just too much for me to process!

...and thus endeth our game for the day because that's a wrong answer.

I won Bingo!

My wife and I like to take cruises and we like to play bingo…..so imagine our surprise when we learned that they play bingo on the cruise ship. They play a session each day and often give away nice little prizes during the daily bingo games and they have a cash prize if anyone can win the final coverall game each day in less than 54 numbers (it’s not easy to get a coverall in less than 54 numbers). My wife is the one that usually wins at bingo. She’s won a free bottle of wine, some free photos and about $150 all together. But one of the things about playing bingo on a cruise ship is that the money they collect for the big prize has to be given away by the last night of the cruise. So one time we go to the last night and they are finally calling the last game, the coverall. On the final night in order to win the money, you don’t need to win in under 54 numbers, you just need to be the winner. So I do like I usually do and go get the cards and give my wife the ones she will eventually win with and a take my loser cards and start playing. Well, after 50 numbers…I’m down to only 2 spots uncovered!! I don’t get excited because I know how this normally ends…with someone else calling out BINGO!! The next 6 numbers are not one of the two on my card and I now can hear people saying that they’re one number away…so I know I’m not going to win. And they call the 57th number…and its one of mine. I’m only one number away…….and they call the 58th number and I have it!!! I jump up and yell, “YES!!! That’s a BINGO!!!” And my wife screams because she was so focused on her card that she never even looked at how mine was doing. And before I know it, I’m up in the front of the ballroom and they’re checking my card…and I suddenly worry that I’ve made a mistake and marked a number wrong…but they say, That’s a Good Bingo!!! And I can’t believe it, I really won. And I suddenly realize….I have no idea how much I just won. So I ask them, “How much did I win?” and the room laughs and they tell me the final amount is $5800. Now I’m in the ship’s pursers office and he’s counting out $100 bills and handing them to me……and after a minute of just waiting and wondering what’s next, I ask, “do I need to fill out a tax form or anything?” And he says, NOPE, enjoy your money. We head back up to dinner and the rest of our group is amazed to hear that I won that much money. With that much extra money, who wouldn’t want to stop in at the ship’s casino after dinner. My wife and I agree to only take $100 each and play a bit just for fun. She normally plays the slot machines and I usually play blackjack. For what ever reason…maybe it was because it was the last night of the cruise, maybe it was because we had the extra money or maybe there was something in the water but I ended up winning $400 at blackjack and my wife won $1000 on a slot machine. We ended up walking off the ship the next morning with $7200 in my pocket. Sometimes the Bingo Gods smile on ya.

All 4 calls are out there.
