Bingo Game #39 - The T.M.I. Trivia Edition

Dang, this could go either way. But, I know you like hanging out at the breweries, and every time we've met, it's been over a beer..... so It could be a mistake, but I'm going with the obvious choice....

Beer.

I knew when I saw that this would be your question that you would get it right. Proving the point of this trivia game...getting to know each other.

I named a beer!

Just south of the Las Vegas valley is the town of Boulder City. Its where the men that worked on Hoover Dam lived while they were working on that engineering triumph. For the past 15 years there has been a brew pub in town called Boulder Dam Brewing. I discovered them during their third year and have become a regular there. Every year, for their AnniBrewsary (see what they did there?) they have a big party and they brew up a special beer and they have a naming contest. The winner gets a gift card, the first pint and recognition with their name in the beer menu. I have entered every year that I’ve been going there (currently the 15th AnniBrewsary party is scheduled for next month….keep your fingers crossed for me) and I kept getting an honorable mention and on two occasions, the owner said I had the winner…until someone came in with something better at the last minute. So after a few years I decided to spend some time getting to know the owner….for research (and also for free beer). I learned what thought process he put into naming the other beers and what names he liked from other breweries. The first thing I discovered was that he liked names that had dual meanings. They also had to be short and easy to order….a long beer name is too much of a mouthful when ordering (especially if you’ve had a few) For the 8th AnniBrewsary I felt I had the puzzle solved and I submitted my beer name, Ocho Loco. Simple, easy to say and it’s Spanish for Crazy 8s. And since it was his hoppiest IPA, it kind of fit, style-wise. Best part was that when he announced the winner he said that I was a testament to perseverance. So far, its ended up being the most popular AnniBrewsary beer and he rebrews it often enough that its replaced his “regular” IPA which is nice since each time its on tap, my name is in the beer menu.

As a follow up to this story, The Annibrewsary party already happened (proving that I pre-wrote this story, flying in the face of that doubting-thomas, @NurseDave ) and I didn't win. The beer is an Imperial Honey Blonde and the name is, I'll Bee Damed.

So @Spider ....what number shall it be?

@Spider could have just left the number in case he was right before he went to work.

Since he wasn’t considerate of his cadre members - I am more than willing to make a call as his proxy if that is ok?
