BarberDave's Shaveapalooza

Doing a little catching up. Some fantastic shaves and set ups, Dave! Oh, and the trigger has been pulled on Opuntia Soap and AS.

Have a good weekend Dave. Still must resist the temptation to buy more soaps, ASs and razors though, unlike Eric.

Thanks Walt, it was great talking on the phone the other day BTW, have a good weekend

Nice stuff as usual. I like that box, I don’t remember seeing it before but I’m sure it’s been in a picture or two.

Thanks Josh, I may repeat the whole thing again, LOL

Well, you'd be hard pressed to find a better line of soaps to do that with...lol. Plus it gives you a reason to use Opuntia, 70th and Stella Alpina again on short notice.

True, very true, LOL... Thanks

STARDATE - AD: 20180408 - SR Shave #897
Pre Shave Lather / Hot Towel & Rinse / 50 laps TM pre / 30 laps Trans Ark Post /
50 laps Westholme & Linen / Lucky Tiger Post Shave Salve / Cold Towel & Rinse

Jerry Stark 6/8 Kamisori
Rubberset 400-4 / TGN Finest
PannaCrema Nuavia Verde Shave Soap
Proraso Green Aftershave Splash
Acqua Di Gio EdT

Early Morning, Mass at 0600 so shave was post church, which was nice as I really had some time to just enjoy the shave post shower. I had recently refreshed the Kami, and realized I had not used it in quite some time. I did a complete bevel reset, since I had just been refreshing Jerry's edge up to know. My typical Coti / Trans-ark progression yielded an edge I would classify as "A+" smooth and very nice. I think I said this before, but I do not think my Shapton's will see much usage, as I pretty much have settled on a honing regiment, and believe it or not, based on my self enablement, I will not be collecting anymore rocks........ Well maybe a new Coticule down the road, and a black ark...... Oh the humanity, LOL

Stuck with the Italian theme again, but this time, with the temps about to approach the high 90's ( WAY TO EARLY BTW ), the Verde got the call. Along with the co-conspirators Proraso Green and AdG, this was going to be a very refreshing shave....... Indeed it was

3-passes today and DSBBS. the kami took some getting used to again, as I have not used any sort of Kami since I let Don borrow the Feather. Definitely need to use them more, but all in all a very nice shave. I also think I mentioned this before, but if not,m you are doing yourselves a dis-service if you have not tried the Lucky Tiger Vanishing, or Disappearing post shave cream. With a cold towel and an final rinse, it really improves the shave, gives a wonderful blast of Mint and Menthol, and really nourishes the skin. It also makes the application of aftershave that much better.....

Try it "Mikey" I think you will like it, LOL

Set-up today:

Have a Blessed Sunday Gents

Nice shave, although I wasn’t as big a fan of Nuavia Verde as I am of the SV stuff.

Thanks TJ. I am bias to SV of course, but Nuavia is a gem to me as well. I think you would be hard pressed to find any soap that works like the Italian offerings. Most of it is just magical

Awesome set-up and shave today Dave. Can't comment on the picture as the work computer is about 50/50 about whether it loads pictures or not. LOL, but knowing you it's top shelf. It's starting to get warm out here, finally, though not quite into the 90's yet...just mid 80's some days. Then again you have days like today where it struggles to get beyond 60 with rain and hail.

Thanks Josh, yest I know, the transitional weather days.... Harbingers of the cold season, LOL

Totally jealous of the Nuàvia. I tried some samples and one is on my buy list for sure.

Great shave, picture, and read Dave!

90° Wow! I think the high today was like 52°, which is much improved over yesterday's 39° and 31° wind chill.

Hey if you don't like the weather here in North Alabama, just hang around a day or two, it'll change.

Good shave today Dave.

Great photos, Dave, as usual. And the Nuavia line scents are simply fantastic, no doubt. I wish I could coax a bit better performance from them at my house, but still top notch none-the-less.
