BarberDave's Shaveapalooza

Awesome stuff, Dave! I had to wait until last night to even get the box from THB, so I was looking forward to your impressions.

I will say that you want to make sure those corks stay super tight on the EdTs. I have one of those poison bottles of their Elixir EdT, and more than half of it evaporated!

Great photo Dave. THB should have you take photos for them! Looks much better than what they posted.

Lol, Dave’s so snarky right now, he doesn’t even want to spell Chads name right!

Actually Chsdf is his actual name, his dad was so upset that he did not have a daughter that those sounds came out of his mouth and the attending doctor put that on the birth certificate, LOL

Have you not seen him since he shaved off the goatee???

Another nice shave today with a classic. Some folks have some lathering issues with EF, but even with the Vegan version it is not a problem as long as your do not over hydrate. Even as only a T2 soap the, fragrance alone is worth a bit of performance slippage.

3-passes today ( and a Shave video ) for DSBBS. A nice healthy splash of Royal Fougere and a few Dotties and Vasilli's of the EF EdT and a good start ot a cool rainy day.

Have a Great Tuesday Gents

That's a nice razor Dave, I recall having seen a couple looking pretty much like it laying around my home.

A couple of fantastic shaves, Dave! I was sorely tempted to jump on the Jekyll & Hyde, but I couldn't bring myself to do it in the end.

Long live the Queen. Nice shave Dave
Thanks Dave

I make that allowance for some soaps as well.
Thanks Chris
Ah.. the notorious vegan Fern! One day i'll find the tallow.
I was thinking of you when I made the video, LOL
Oh man, that there is some unobtainable unobtainium
Thanks Dave, LOL

The Boss is out sick with another one of her Epic Migraines, so I took the day off from School/Barbershop, to take care of her mom and get some stuff done around the house. When she gets these it can be a day or five, so the less she has to attempt to do the better. With the weather going straight from "surface of the Sun" to a Cold snap, I am sure with the pressure differences, that is having an effect too. It was cold ( ok for us desert rats ) this morning at 46 Degrees, so more of the winter scents are being dusted off and moved to the front of the soap locker. Only supposed to get to the mid 60's today, with Tucson proper in the low 70's so it was an Oud day for sure.

For those that do not know Oud is a distillation from Agar wood and some other rare woods, so it can have a variety of fragrance cues. It can be strong, feril and barnyardy, or mixed with other items it can be green. Either way you will love it, or hate it, not much negotiation. If you do like it there will be some that are just too fecal, or "mid eastern market, or barnyard". I am one that likes most of them. Oud unlike any other fragrance oil evolves almost on a minute by minute basis, based on your body chemistry. However they cannot be worn in Summer Temps IMHO, unless you want to repel worse than the Veg and have your spouse or co-workers toss you off a building, or take you to the nearest firehouse for a hose down.

To the Shave:

Well since there has been much revelry about Craig's and Chris' Wackers and how good they look and perform, I thought I might as well pull my out as well. ( OKAY YOU SICKOS, get you minds out of the gutter, LOL) Sorry could not resist.

SV, not much else to say, the finest shave soap in the Universe, okay I am a bit bias, being a brand ambassador, but I have yet to find a soap that is worthy as a total package, CBL and PCN come very very close but none perform to it's standard. Making soap for over 70 some years does that, and I am sure you would be surprised that many of the tops soaps in Europe are probably made by them, and even a few here in the states.

Today, with the cold , rainy weather Tundra Artica was a perfect solution. Oud with Berrys and high mountain moss and stuff made it gloriuous. Performanc and a wond
erful dance with the Chevalier.

3-passes for DSBBS (G) (10) and a new winner in the top five overall shaves. A couple of drops of the SV aftershave just brought out the oud even more. Finally a very animalistic EdP to go with it.

For those that are familiar with Zoologist, he tries to bring the raw feeling of the animal in which the fragrance is named after. Civet is no exception. This jungle cat eats coffee beans, as well as other items, and for those coffee aficionados among us, you know that is where Kopi Luwak coffee is made..... Yes the civet excretes the coffee bean whole after it has traveled through its digestive track, and yes the coffee is that good.

So, Civet has musk, coffee, green jungle, and ouds. It is a smack in the face, extremely animlaistic, but in a good way. Only one Vasilli is needed for this stuff. Oh how good that one Vasilli is. Epic shave today.

Set-up:

Hope you all have a Great Tuesday!

I wish that SV liked the water at my house. The best performance I can get from it at home is Tier 1 status. But I've taken it on the road many times, and with different water, I can get elite status.

Such as???
