The Boss is out sick with another one of her Epic Migraines, so I took the day off from School/Barbershop, to take care of her mom and get some stuff done around the house. When she gets these it can be a day or five, so the less she has to attempt to do the better. With the weather going straight from "surface of the Sun" to a Cold snap, I am sure with the pressure differences, that is having an effect too. It was cold ( ok for us desert rats ) this morning at 46 Degrees, so more of the winter scents are being dusted off and moved to the front of the soap locker. Only supposed to get to the mid 60's today, with Tucson proper in the low 70's so it was an Oud day for sure.
For those that do not know Oud is a distillation from Agar wood and some other rare woods, so it can have a variety of fragrance cues. It can be strong, feril and barnyardy, or mixed with other items it can be green. Either way you will love it, or hate it, not much negotiation. If you do like it there will be some that are just too fecal, or "mid eastern market, or barnyard". I am one that likes most of them. Oud unlike any other fragrance oil evolves almost on a minute by minute basis, based on your body chemistry. However they cannot be worn in Summer Temps IMHO, unless you want to repel worse than the Veg and have your spouse or co-workers toss you off a building, or take you to the nearest firehouse for a hose down.
To the Shave:
Well since there has been much revelry about Craig's and Chris' Wackers and how good they look and perform, I thought I might as well pull my out as well. ( OKAY YOU SICKOS, get you minds out of the gutter, LOL) Sorry could not resist.
SV, not much else to say, the finest shave soap in the Universe, okay I am a bit bias, being a brand ambassador, but I have yet to find a soap that is worthy as a total package, CBL and PCN come very very close but none perform to it's standard. Making soap for over 70 some years does that, and I am sure you would be surprised that many of the tops soaps in Europe are probably made by them, and even a few here in the states.
Today, with the cold , rainy weather Tundra Artica was a perfect solution. Oud with Berrys and high mountain moss and stuff made it gloriuous. Performanc and a wond
erful dance with the Chevalier.
3-passes for DSBBS (G) (10) and a new winner in the top five overall shaves. A couple of drops of the SV aftershave just brought out the oud even more. Finally a very animalistic EdP to go with it.
For those that are familiar with Zoologist, he tries to bring the raw feeling of the animal in which the fragrance is named after. Civet is no exception. This jungle cat eats coffee beans, as well as other items, and for those coffee aficionados among us, you know that is where Kopi Luwak coffee is made..... Yes the civet excretes the coffee bean whole after it has traveled through its digestive track, and yes the coffee is that good.
So, Civet has musk, coffee, green jungle, and ouds. It is a smack in the face, extremely animlaistic, but in a good way. Only one Vasilli is needed for this stuff. Oh how good that one Vasilli is. Epic shave today.
Set-up:
Hope you all have a Great Tuesday!
