Fantastic photo and shave.

I forget if you already said or not, sorry if you have...what products does the school use for customer shaves?

Thanks Chris. We use either an Elegance Gel, or Lather from a hot latherizer. This is simply what is used for the state board exam, but after that I will be using the same things I use here on my clientele, I was lucky they approved me to use a non-disposable straight razor, but the owner approved and in AZ we can still use regular straights, although I use a Feather DX as well, and for my around the ear and nape of the neck shaves post haircut
Techinically speaking we are not supposed to used shave brushes either unless we have a specific brush for every client like the old days, but most do use them and have good sterilization technique, especially now with synthetic knots

Great shaves and pics!

Thank you sir

I'm going to have to re-visit the T&H 1805 aftershave. I'll be in Chicago tomorrow and may have the time to visit Merz Apothecary - they'll have it.

thanks Chris, and we are looking at a rooster as this afternoon I think I found out culprits, a pair of juvenile Red Tail Hawks were swooping in on the yard about the same time as we lost the chicken yesterday. so it will be an air combat, rather than a ground offensive, LOL

Hey Dave, a friend and colleague of mine here at Penn State developed some UAV technology for the U.S.M.C. I can hook you guys up if you would like.

Great catching up in your journal, and that CBL soap really is an up and comer. I hope school is going well.

Sounds like a lovely shave to start the morning. Also saw the acquisition of the GoT johnny walker. Crazy.....

Another post from Dave. Who is this guy?

Good stuff brother.

Thanks Mac, Almost half way done, and Sharon might take you up on the UAV, as long as it is heavily armed.

Thanks Tom and it is pretty good, I am not much for blended Scotch, but very smooth and nice

Due to school schedule at the barbershop my entries are a bit late in the evening for the present days shave. Probably more confusing to me that to our readers, as I usually write these up near the same time that I take the photo for the next days shave.... What did that ever-wise sage Craig Ferguson state?

"Tomorrow is Just your Future Yesterday" LOL

Anyway good shave today. Too bad Paladin stopped making soaps! like his brushes, Ken's product is just top notch from the packaging to performance. Natches trace is a wonderful combo of Pine, Bay, and Cedar perfect for a 40 degree morning. Lather is legendary, performance is Elite status, so it has all the makings for a stellar shave.

The Trident slid around the track with ease, after giving it a slight Coti/Ark refresh last night. Word to the wise.... Do not hone and drink GOT Scotch at the same time.. Your fingers don's always hold the hone correctly. I will leave it at that. Not a ton of blood, but enough to make a strawberry finger. Super glue to the rescue, LOL.

3-passes for a DSBBS and finished up with a small amount of balm and the lovely woody notes in the L'Occitan to start another day of Chopping at the shop.

Hope you all had a tremendous Wednesday. With Halloween coming it is time to open the casket, Hint, Hint. That for tomorrow's shave.... Stay tuned!

Natchez Trace is good stuff. I'm not sure why Paladin Soaps never took off. They are really good. And it's one of the few artisan soaps that are hard soaps that give the same type of performance as the new softer range of soaps. It's the same type of base as Beehive soaps. They are really good. He still has some available, but when they are gone, that's it. I've debated getting more, but I have 2 tubs, and I doubt I'll ever use those up.

I kept meaning to get another when getting a brush but that seems to be a rush to checkout and it never worked. Maybe next time...

That's why you put the soap in your shopping cart first, before the brushes actually get released. So when you check out for the brush the soap's already there!

Thanks Guys and I have them all, Thankfully they will last me forever as well as a couple of bottles of the balm

Super Late Entry this evening as I was at the barbershop chopping until 8:30. So this morning was a great shave with THB, this is by far the best overall lavender scent I have used, both in a soap and Aftershave. Eucris has enough to play well, however the Gothic side of this fragrance begs to be worn for Halloween and also demand to be top dog. Love this scent. To bad the shave soap of this brand is complete junk, LOL.

My normal 3-passes, a small bit of clean-up and DSBBS some Vasilli's and Dotty's of the Death juice and off to the races.

Set up today:

hope you all had a great day
