Quick drive-by this evening as most of my entries may be for the next 10 - Months or so, as I attend Barber School. Something I wanted to do as a kid, and now That I am retired, a great time to do it. The course looks pretty indepth, and the shaving part will be interesting to say the least, as shaving oneself is a while different ball game. So most of my entries will be drive-by's. Except for Sundays and Monday, so I apologize in advance that I will be catching up not only my journals, but your as well.

Today was a 0400 Shave Call using the above, and with 106 temps it was the perfect time. Everything worked in concert, even thoough I was barely awake. DSBBS for the 1st day of school, and Aventus to top it off. Plus I did my first full haircut today..... okay it was a buzzcut only with a 0/1 taper some eyebrow trimming, but it was fun, and nerve racking all the same.

Set-up:

NO PHOTO TODAY:

Hope you have a great week gents, and again, I will get caught up this weekend. Thanks for all you do for the TSC

Awesome shave. Congrats on the customer surviving the first day!

You make sure to give the instructor some pointers when it comes to those shaves!

Thanks Chris, LOL I will I am trying to play completely novice and let them teach me the way it is needed for the state board, including dominant hand shaving rather than ambidextrous as I am now, using "barbershop Lather machine lather & a shavette" and half DE blades. then once I pass back to a real straight or Feather, LOL

The barber school sounds interesting...

Anyone want to take bets on how long it takes for Dave to correct one of the instructors when it comes to SR shaving? LOL

All kidding aside, wonderful set-up and shave today, albeit NO PHOTO?!

Thanks Dave with sharing! I can honestly say that seeing you step into a new phase of your life is really a pleasure to read about! I think I can speak for the rest of us, but we are incredibly proud of you for jumping into Barber School It is only something that some of us can even dream about at this stage in our lives! Keep up the great work and let us know your triumphs and struggles...I am sure you know this already...but all of us here are your biggest fans!

awesomely put Don...I might joke about a bit, but what you just said really does encapsulate my feelings as well.

Excellent couple of shaves Dave, and good luck in barber school! I had Iced Pineapple set up for this morning, but called an audible at the last minute.

Good stuff Dave. Good luck in school. Remember if you have to write a paper you can use google you don't have to use library catalogs anymore. And just because you edit a wikipedia article doesn't make it a resource.

The Dewey Decimal System is a perishable skill Chad...he doesn't want to let his skills erode too much.
